I am so easily distracted to where I don't feel like doing the program anymore. Why i don't know. I have left it out so it will remind me to do my homework and listen to my tapes. But I still go through the day sometimes depressed or have my anxiety act up. My biggest issue is the depression. How do I overcome that and build up my self esteem?
Hello,
My agoraphobia has been so bad that I've been housebound for the past 2 1/2 months. Given this, I obviously have a lot of motivation to continue working on the program. More than anything, I want to break free from anxiety. I'm ready to start living life to the fullest. I feel that after almost 20 years of anxiety that I've missed sooooo much. I can tell you that I'm on Week 2 and already starting to feel better. I can only imagine what I'm going to be accomplishing in a few weeks. Ultimately, I think that the more someone puts into something, the more they;re going to get out of it.
Good Luck To All,
~Bridgette~

My biggest problem is procrastination. I felt really bad because I could not complete the program in a week. But after I talked to a counselor she said I don't have to finish it in a week. So that made me feel better.
Now to answer your questions, my mind usually wonders with whatif thoughts. Well today for the very first time, I tried something new. The preacher was speaking I close my eyes and saw the words he spoke. I know it sounds weird. But my thoughts did not go into what if mode.
I don't know why (I don't need to know why) I saw words in my mind. But it work for me.

Hi Stressed Momma,
My challenges, when I began, were the same as yours. Discipline, like everything we learn in life, takes time and effort to become proficient at!
We tend to have unrealistic expectations - especially about ourselves. Give yourself a Break and Lighten Up on yourself.
Start with small steps and give yourself time to adapt to the changes. Say "This is a Process". And don't allow any negative thoughts to creep in! (Like... "I should be done by now!” This kind of thinking is a real NO-No.)
Listen to the advice on the cd's and try them in your life. Investigate the Workbooks. Progress at Your Own Speed, because you are right where you are supposed to Be!
The Self Esteem will come, with time, as you Progress through the Program and the lessons you will learn in your own Life.
Keep going - you will do fine! Steve

The relaxation tapes should help you calm down, then you can focus better.

It is our light, not our darkness, that frightens us.
We ask ourselves...
who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, and fabulous?
Actually, who are we not to be? --Unknown
