I just cant seem to allow all these thoughts to leave my mind when I need them to, For example during the relaxation CD is all I can think about are all these things that I should be doing, or negative thoughts about myself. The more I try to block them out the more they come. I had to just turn the relaxation CD of because it became so frustrating! What can I do?

hey mjp,

don't worry...its normal.

understand, that with anxiety and panic, that type of thinking is what got you where you are today.

it was not an overnight thing, and healing will not be an overnight thing.

it will take time. and p-a-t-i-e-n-c-e. lots of both.

through repetition, your thoughts will quiet and you will begin to feel better.

and don't forget to breathe.

I had the same problem, my mind would wander off and took my focus away from relaxing. I'm starting to get better now and learning how to relax. Just keep listening at least three times a day, you don't have to follow the exercises every time, just once a day. Repeating things over and over is how we learn.
