Stock Lady, wow what a trial that would have been to have an employee creating a log with everyone in it? Boy, she must have too much time on her hands and a mind that is pretty angry! Glad she is gone for you. Congrats on your new horse as well!
Schnauzermom, yes the shopping went well, it kind of looked like I was the only one in the mall - sign of the times I guess.

Wow Stock Lady! That is much to deal with when you have a tattler logging your every move. Good riddance to the drama! It is work to disconnect yourself from the bad, ugly, rude, ignorance, but the beautiful thing is is that WE do have the ultimate control over our thoughts and feelings. If someone gets short with you that does not mean you need to take it to the next level. There is no positive in one upsmanship. I just see that I do not need to prove myself to anyone by raising my voice or slamming someone down. It does not prove anything good. It does prove immaturity, ignorance, stupidity and really makes me feel crappy because I really am not any of those things, but I acted that way. So I just stop myself and just smile. Smiling has a way of calming us and making us feel good.
It sounds as if you are making remarkable progress. Do not get caught up in other peoples junk. Your husband just may enjoy all the office gossip and may relay that to you, but you really do not need it to affect you. You can't control other people. I used to hear the office gossip. It mostly was women talking about other women in the office. They really were unkind to one another, of course behinds each others back! I just looked at them and though, Geez, what a bunch of cackling hens in a hen house! They are just picking on one another. I never really got close to any of them because they all talked about one another, so I knew that friendships there were superficial. I also saw that those that broke the rules and had much to complain about were the ones that were gossiping the most. The were too into what everyone was doing and not minding their own desks. Those people did not last long. They were unproductive and disruptive. Work is work. You get it, get it done and leave. I was nice to people but steered clear of the office politics and antics. Those things are NOT for me. Maybe ask your husband to leave work at work and you both get into something you both can focus on and enjoy. talk about interests, plans for vacation, house improvements, memories, anything that is pleasant.

Whizzie,
I think the stores were busy on Wednesday as around here, Wednesday is SENIOR CITIZEN discount day. (an extra 10-15% off their purchases, even on sale items) I think the several senior buses from various retirement communities and nursing homes may have dropped them all off for shopping. They are SO cute!

Hi Rachel. It's the desire to be different, to change, that will get you through this. Just start each new day with the resolve that you wil do your best to not get caught up in negativity, to seek to see the best in people and situations and if you get a lemon to try and make lemonade out of it. Sometimes we need to address things that come up, but usually it's our own negative attitudes that do us in.
Don't try and be perfect or beat yourself up, just seek to change. Simple.
Hey Liz,
Yes, we are cute, lol. At least I still am. haha. Looking forward to going with my sister in law and her husband to McDonald's soon so we can get our senior soft drink for a quarter or is it free? Yeahhhhhhhh!!!! There are some positive aspects of getting older!!
I was having some "senior moments" a few weeks ago. I'd watch a movie on cable and see actors from the 50s and 60s whose names I knew, but I couldn't recall immediately, such as June Allison and Burt Lancaster. Well, some of them were more recent than that, such as Michael Douglas. I think, or at least hope, it was my meds. I seem to be better now that I've reduced them some. I hate when that happens. lol

Hey Don!
Lets not fool anyone here. You are not part of the white hair club, but you are of age to enjoy the perks in "seniordom". Enjoy it! Seniors have earned it!
I am not sure what the McD drinks run for seniors. I figured the coffee and tea were free.
