I went back to get your message which I copied below.

Sorry I can not think of any way to help you. It is going to be hard to change her habits unless she is willing to change.

I hope that you or someone else might come up with some ideas.

Does anyone have this problem. I have OCD which developed around age ten. I am thirty years old now. I live with a mother that rarely washes her hands after using the bathroom. After years of therapy I have realized that most of my symptoms come from my feeling about her. This bathroom issue is the hardest thing for me though. Our house is very small and I hear everything. I hear her flush the toilet and then not run any water. It makes me very anxious. I have tried talking to her about how this makes me feel but she just says that it is my issue and that she doesn't need to wash because her immune system keeps her from getting sick.I can not afford to leave the house as much as I want to. Does anyone have any thoughts on how to deal with this anxiety. Thanks for listening. I need to vent.

I sympathize with you. Yet, I have a suggestion - something I just realized after going back to Lesson 4 in our workbook. There is a reference of book titled:"What to say when you talk to your self" by Shad Helmstetter. I am so gald I began reading it just a day ago and I can no longer put it down. It does not mean I have resolved my anxiety coming from my imagenary thinking. It gives a good background to how we happened to have been conditioned in our subconsciousness. I urge you to read it. I am definitely reading it and hope i can use it to strengthen what I am getting from the CDs, DVDs and workbook.

I did see that book on the suggested reading list. I was also looking at feel the fear and do it anyway. That looked interesting. Thanks for reading the post. If anyone thinks of anything please let me know.
