Hey everyone... Do you ever seriously feel like you are going to just snap and lose your mind??? The other night I was lying in bed sick, I was mad at my boyfriend and he came into the room and I just snapped at him with attitude, well right after that the attack started, I got repeated adrenaline bursts in my stomach, OMG I was soooooo scared I seriously felt like I was going to just go psycho and nuts, my heart was pounding and my brain felt like I was about to go psycho!!! I got up and went to the bathroom and my entire body was shaking like I was having a seizure. The thoughts and feelings scared the freaking crap outta me and now I am scared that I will just snap and go psycho!!! This morning I had an OB doctor appointment cause Im pregnant and I was anxious as soon as I woke up. I had the feeling that I just didnt want to go and something was going to go wrong. Well, I had to go, so I went but sat in the car and pretty much had an attack start. I just felt really weird and I was so scared. I went in with wet palms and shaky hands and scared to death, I made it through. I have just had enough, I am tired of having these feelings and seriously debating on staying home because of the feelings. They are so scary. Does anyone experience to adrenaline bursts several times a day?? I feel it in my stomach, its like my stomach turns or something. My mind never, ever feels calm. Now I sit here and think OMG what if I just go psycho and then I feel the adrenaline burst and practically scare the crap outta myself. Sometimes when I am sleeping I get a wave of nervousness that just goes through my body. Im scared because I feel like it will never stop!

This sounds just like me when I'm having bad anxiety; very shakey, sweaty, bursts of adrenaline (feels like a hot flash), and feeling like you're going to lose it. These are all natural responses to the release of adrenaline in your body.

Are you using the program?

Angela. I have had those bursts of adrenaline that you are explaining. My stomach was constantly in a nervous state and my mind would not calm down. I think you may be dealing with hormonal surges because you are pregnant. Just as doamadman suggests, ride through them. If you can do the relaxation cd a couple of times a day, that can help. When your anger and your "psycho" feeling starts, you may want to start a journal and just free write everything that is going on.

Good luck to you. Take care and enjoy yourself during your pregnancy.

Doesn't anxiety suck!! You know as well as ayone that you are NOT going nuts. It feels like it and often times you wonder if it will ever end. Well, take it from the king of scary thoughts, it does get better and will get better everyday if you work at it. Accept the feelings...get aggressive at pounding them down. Although they are scary, confront them. Confront fear right where it is. Go with the feelings and continue about your day. Eventually things will be better and get better each day...I promise. I deal with the same scary thought on ocassion and let me tell you it is a thought that i wouldn't wish on anyone, however, I know it's just a thought and i would NEVER act on it. Speak out against the thought. I talk to the Lord a lot...He has given me great peace. I would love to help you through your thoughts as I feel lke i have experience. in fact if anyone would like to correspond about dealing with scary thoughts I would be willing to talk to you via email. wcymca@frontiernet.net. Please feel free to drop me a line.

Good luck. You are very sane! Claim victory. Confront your fear.

Absolutely!! For me, when my anxiety gets bad, that's always what happens. I am just SO SURE that THIS TIME I'm really going crazy.

I had a panic attack like that a couple weeks ago and my husband was sort of laughing it off. . .like I was that character on that old 70's show (Redd Foxx?) that was always saying he was going to have "the big one" . . . always thinking he was having a heart attack.

My hubby was saying to me. . ."what makes this any different than any of the other hundreds of times?" and "You haven't gone crazy yet, I doubt you're going to this time."

He was right. But for some reason that's what happens to me, and has been happening for about 20 years now. It's not as common as it was but I get caught off guard sometimes.

I am feeling much better overall lately than I had been months ago. Some of it for me was hormonal, I think. . .because I just started on birth control pills and I'm feeling calmer. Actually I feel tired now. . .which I can't tell if I'm really TIRED or if I'm just so used to being wound up that normal feels like tired. LOL

Keep in mind that people that are TRULY insane, don't have a fear of it. They think they're fine!! The fact that you are questioning your sanity in itself is proof that you really are sane. . .as goofy as that sounds.

My stomach gets all funky when I'm nervous too, by the way.

I'm so sorry you're experiencing this.
