ninja...

ok...i've read meg's post...where did you see that she said you could get schizophrenia from anxiety?? this is what i saw.....

"You're just having anxiety, an emotional problem, about a very anxiety producing situation.I hope this helps."

As far as who to believe, I think that Meg and I were/are on the "same page" so to speak....additionally, given your personality (like many of the other people that have anxiety) you will have to do a little research yourself and then ULTIMATELY...you will have to convince YOURSELF. Just as the theory that there is no "safe person" but YOU are your safe person.

I wish you peace from the very bottom of my heart.

Let me say to you-you do not have what your Mom has.In my opinion, you are going through one of the hardest things that a family can go through. Of course you are upset and anxious. Try to gain strength and encouragement from family and friends. Also, it helps to "unplug" from the whole situation. I know it sounds so selfish, but if you will take the time and do some things that make you feel better, it will help. Watch a funny movie, read your favorite book, experience the beauty of nature. Get a different perspective for a time and you will benifit. Hugs.

Realestninja, My mother is schizophrenic...and NO that does NOT mean that you will get it! To be honest(take a look at my previous posts), my anxiety was brought on by the "fear" of becoming like her. I struggled with anxiety, depression and OCD for YEARS! Come to find out, the chances of inheriting her mental illness was slim to nothing. HER doctor has reassured me that I WILL never be like her. It's a "Mental illness". Anxiety is "emotional" NOT MENTAL!!! YOU will be OKAY :D It is TRUE that one with this type of "illness" has NO CLUE that THEY are sick. If you ask my mother, she will say that she's fine but everyone else is "sick" Anxious folks, like us, always "fear" becoming sick, 'what if", etc. My mother doesn't "fear" her illness..Do you see the difference??? The FACT that you "fear" indicates you NEVER will!!!

continue with the program, you'll be glad you did it! God drew me to this program, the program drew me closer to God...and with that, I am a NEW person. I have life coping skills now and I am "panic" FREEEEEE...

God bless you and take care
Robin
