D-3 is under 5$, and it also helps with your immune system and heart health too.

Does the Wal-Mart brand work? Are there side effects?

I'm not aware of any side effects. I haven't had any at all on 2,000 Mg's.

To make the most out of the shorter daylight, I make sure to get outside during the day as much as possible. At work, I'll take my breaks outside. Once it gets too cold, I still bundle up and get outside for walks or just breathe and relax.

Wow! I was just reading this thread and came to some realizations.

I work in a basement...no windows. I seldom get to go outside or near a window during the day. When I go home, I typically sit in a chair in my den...again, no windows. It is sunken and my husband insisted in roofing over the skylights to reduce the chance of leaks.

In short, I get very little sunlight Monday through Friday except for walking to and from my car at work and I am not one to do anything outside after work as I am too tired to even consider it.

In addition, now that cooler weather is here, and it is getting into the 30's at night, I typically "freeze" in the mornings as we aren't using any heat, yet. In turn, when winter arrives, the average temperature in our home will be from 55 to 60 degrees.

Sunlight? Heat? Missing from my life? You betcha!

You know whats odd? I actually have Summer SAD. I get worse in the Spring and Fall and start to feel better when Fall comes and when its cold gray and raining especially I feel amazing. It's sad though because I live in So. Cal and its always hot and sunny here. I keep my house dark during these bright days too. I know a lot more people have the "winter blues" more than the "summers blues" and it does make more sense. I wonder if anyone else has this on this site . .? Anyway, seems like getting out earlier may help you all. But for me when it gets dark sooner I like it a lot! ! ! ! I just wish it'd start to rain. . like everyday for a looong time. . I'd feel great!!! Sorry not much of a help but thought it was funny how I am the opposite.

Hey MC Grace,
You said you tried the sun-light lamp thing, did it work? I'm considering one myself.
