sooo
i am supposed to start an exercise group tomorrow but i get waves of this horrible wierd low blood sugar feeling almost every day!! sometimes it lasts 30 minutes and sometimes a few hours. this is the thing that freaks me out the most. anyway it is supposedly anxiety but i do not really believe that (i wish i did).. my question is do you guys think the exercise will make that worse? also has anyone else felt like this?
I wish I had a great answer for you but seeing that you have been on here much longer than me you likely have completed the program and know more than I do. I just finished session 6 so everything I would have suggested or asked wouldn't likely be of use to you.
Have you had a day long glucose test done? I know someone who did and that was how they found out they did in fact have a blood sugar problem. It's far more involved than just a fast and blood test and more accurate.
Also as you know anxiety has about the same affect on the release of hormones as does caffein and sweets. If you are still feeling anxious then maybe that's the cause.
Wish I had a better reply!
I wish you all the best with the class and hope you feel better.

Rene,
Go start that exercise group. Make sure you eat before you go -protein and carbs- and bring a light snack and some juice with you. You may not need the snack after or during exercising but it's a comfort just to have it along anyway. And if you do need it , so what, no big deal.
I found that, in the past, with my anxiety and panic attacks, that I constantly had that feeling of low blood sugar. I brought juice with me in the car if I was only going to go around the corner for 5 minutes. For me, it was all the anxiety kicking in and my thoughts would go on full speed, negative, "what if'ing" all the time.I constantly thought I was going to pass out if I didn't eat something in a hurry. I never did. It was actually just my thoughts working overtime, convincing me that the "weird light headed feeling" was a blood sugar problem, and in reality, it was just anxious feelings making me nervous and at times making me hyperventilate.
It still surprises me today that I can go exercise, and feel great afterwards and during. I go every day for a year now. It's awesome.
To answer your question, No I don't think it will make it worse. If anything, it will be a big accomplishment for you to go, and you'll end up feeling very proud of yourself for having the courage to try it.
Go for it. Surprise yourself in a good, healthy way.
Go get a blood sugar test to end the wondering about it all. Probably nothing, but why sit around worrying about it?
God bless and hugs.
