Hi Holly,
I just started pristiq 3 weeks ago, after I got off lexapro. I was on 20mg of lexapro for about 7 months. I felt spacey, snappy, and felt like I was getting more panic attacks. I was was scared to try prisitq too. So far the first week I felt tired, but now the side affect is the dry mouth, and my jaw aches. I really hope this works for you, as much for me. I'm going to give it time, I have notice that I'm smiling more, and having more patience. :) I'm just always thirsty!!! Good luck to you!

COOL!!! Finally someone else who is on Pristiq!! Iv been on it for 6 days now. It doesn't make me as wired as the lexapro did at all in fact an hour after i take it i am SOOOOO tired and out of it (which is why i take it at night) and i am already seeing some good results. I notice my throat feels a little different and i do feel a little starnge sometimes but i can handle it for sure. Nothing like how Lexapro was like. May i ask what you take it for? Depression and anxiety? I have panic disorder, obsessive self doubt thoughts constantly and major depressive disorder. So you like the Pristiq??? Please keep in touch i am glad to finally hear someone else takes this new medicine. thanks for replying!!!!! Oh may I ask how many mg's you are on? I am on 50mg but wouldnt mind going up if i have to.

Hey Holly,
I'm taking pristiq for depression and anxiety. I'm on I believe week 4, and I'm starting to feel I have more energy. I haven't had any anxiety attacks, which I'm so happy for!! The only side effects are the dry mouth, and I don't really have an appetite. So far I like it, I researched it a lot, its suppose to made from effexor, which I did ok from, but when I got off of that I had bad withdraws. Pristiq is suppose to work in the same way, but no withdraw from it, and it works with to parts of the brain, not like alot of the other antidepressants. Just give a little time to let it get into ur system, u will feel so much better. Oh yeah, I'm on 50mg too. keep in touch! Let me know how u r doing!

cool thanks for replying. i am on day 9. i do feel some improvement though the last 2 days i have felt pretty crummy but this could be because my period id a 5 days and I usually feel more anxious and depressed during this time. I noticed i feel pretty irritable the last 2 days and at first i was freaking out like OH NO the meds are not working anymore or they're making me feel irritable!! But i will stop thinking that and know its my period (plus this is my first month on the birth control Yaz because I have PMDD)I hope that these meds will help me the longer I take them! I do have chronic obsessive thoughts which is what puts me into depression. Have you found pristiq to help for obsessive thoughts at all? Please keep in touch k? thank you!!!!

I know how u feel. When I was getting ready to start my period, I was really crappy, (I have pmd) too! So, then I would start to feel like my pills are not working, I was ready to give up, then I had to tell myself that it was that time of the month, I always get this way when I'm around this time, I haven't been on this pill for long, so after that time past, I noticed I felt better. That's why I made it a point to give it time. I say it takes about a good 2 to 3 weeks for it to get into ur system. I can't tell u how much of a difference I feel then from a week ago! I hope u can make it through this week, I know you can, u and I are alot alike :) I'm an obsessive thinker, really bad, and this has helped! Keep in touch!
