I need a little insight from you guys.
I have been suffering with anxiety since I was 19 and I'm now 24 but have started doing things since I started the program that I haven't done in some time. I still live with my parents and what made me try the program was when they went on holiday in June I lost control and couldn't cope. I went and joined them on holiday for a few days and have made steady progress since.
They are due to go on holiday again at the end of the month and it is really stressing me out in case it happens again. They have been on holiday every year since I was sixteen and was fine up until June.
I don't know how to get through this one because I can't take small steps towards getting over it. Any ideas anyone?
Anticipatory Anxiety
You've got us! Please do concentrate on Session One and Two. Review them in detail. Do all the homework for both One and Two again, and turn here, to this community. I wish you were on Session 9. I'd keep you very, very busy with my questions about two of the homework assignments that I have yet to do, and there'd be no time for you to go on holiday. Those are my ideas. I'm sure you will get some much better ones very soon, but it the meantime, Session One and Two: Review, review, review.
There is nothing wrong with feeling safe with your parents and even though they are on holiday they are with you every minute.Follow the program even when at times you will feel life is overwhelming you with more than you can handle. You will heal and live the life you were meant to have and imagine how proud your parents will be when they see you live in happiness.
I am so sorry that you are going through this. I cant remember which lesson says this but we need to remember that we all are our own safe person. Prayer helps me out more than anything. Possitive self is also paramount for me. I am the most negitive thinker out there.( and the worst speller)possitive self talk with a possitive attitude helps. like pecos said you have all of us here also.
