chest pain followed by burning
I sat down on the couch and started eating this morning and all of a sudden got a pain in the center of my chest, just above the breast line, then I said oh no, I think I'm having a heart attack. Then I had burning in my whole body, got up and walked around the house and it started going away, but now the burning is coming and going. Is this a panic attack? I haven't had one in almost a month and have not had the pain before in the chest. It's scary. Has anybody else experienced this? Now, I'm feeling tingly...Thank you
If it happens again to go the emergency room just to make sure it's not a heart attack. It MIGHT be anxiety, but you should not take the risk. Then make an appointment with a heart specialist and get a check up. You should be fine. Just make sure.

In light of no other symptoms, doerly, I would venture to say it is "probably" anxiety. Or, do you have GERD, i.e. reflux?
I have had the feeling you experienced MANY times... and, like I said, it is "probably" anxiety. But, as we all know, there is only one way to find out. I agree, if it continues, it does warrant checking into...
Try to relax and breathe... stay away from highly acidic foods and beverages.
Let us know how you do... by the way, how old are you? Do you smoke?

Possibly severe acid reflux but I would still talk to your doctor about it. I have GERD and the acid reflux can cause a very bad burning sensation in the area you mentioned. I thought I was being silly when I panicked and went to the ER the first time it happened, but they told me it was good to be checked just to make sure.
Don't be upset. Just get a check up. If you feel burning sensation along with chest pain it's something to look into. For what it's worthy I just got tested for glaucoma and sleep apnea. I found out last week I did NOT have either one. Get tested!Originally posted by doerly:
2 months ago, my doctor did a full work up, with bloodwork and a cardiogram and he said everything was great. I'm pretty sure that I know it wasn't a heart attack because I'm ok now, just a little upset after reading the last message. I was just looking for some reassurance. Thank you
My first severe panick attack came with very similar symptoms. I had a burning sensation that started in my chest and went throughout my entire body....it would come and go cyclical for several hours.....I have been to several doctors etc.and even called 911 in the middle of the night when this happened the first time..and it has been just anxiety. I know how hard it is when you are trying to differentiate between something to rush to the doctor about and something that can wait. I am giving myself permission right now to be overly cautious because I am just starting with the program, knowing that in time I will get better at knowing when to rush to the doctor and when not to. Also...I have also read comments on the forum that have initiated more anxiety instead of less and have decided to let those comments just float by....its hard when we are struggling with all of this.....Best of luck
Sounds like panic to me doerly. I know when I have attacks I get very flushed and feel like my body is on fire on the inside and when I start hyperventalating its causes the tingly feeling you described, it could be that you have indegestion. If the symptoms get worse it would not hurt to go get checked out just to be safe.
