Hey guys, so I was running a low grade fever for a couple nights, a few nights ago. Now, I don't seem chilled anymore but my skin at night will get really, really hot. Especially around my neck, my bust, underarms. I'm super worried about it! I'm paranoid that I still have a fever, which really worries me because I'm not really sick right now. The night I did have a fever, there was a big temperature change. So I figured that my body was trying to adjust. I've been super anxious lately and have had a lot on my mind, with graduating university and trying to find a job. So I'm wondering if it's possible to create body symptoms like this. I have a tendency of creating body symptoms to distract myself and then I become so focused on them that I don't focus on the stresses I'm going through.
I've just been worrying about my health endlessly! I went to my dr's the other day and he didn't seem too concerned.
I'm totally rambling now, but it's just been really scaring me.
Thanks!

I don't think this is the same thing, but I have experienced burning sensations with my anxiety from time to time. I will feel it in my back, shoulders, neck . .. It sounds as if your symptoms are anxiety related and if your doctor isn't concerned, I wouldn't be. YOu might also be experiencing some indigestion -- I have noticed sometimes reflux gives me odd sensations, too. I do the same thing you do when it comes to symptoms. I will experience one, focus on it, and it takes forever to go away. It is frightening, but once I tell myself it is anxiety, things calm down a bit. I really believe you will be just fine. You did the right thing by going to the doc. Now, just try and tell your mind to stop playing tricks on you, that you know it is just anxiety, so you can be at peace. :) P.S. check out www.anxietycentre.com for a HUGE list of anxiety symptoms. You may be surprised AND reasurred. Hugs! Wiskers ~

This happens to me but then I will take my temperature and it is normal. I wonder how in the heck it could be normal when my skin feels like it is on fire. I have heard several other people talk about this also.

BTW, it seems like when I have a fever I am usually so cold that nothing can warm me up. I guess "chills".

It sounds pretty normal to me. ???

Shaky Susie:

This is one of my chief complaints and one of THE most uncomfortable body sensations that I have. It's like having a major hot flash one minute and then teeth chattering cold the next. I do believe that sometimes, for me anyway, it is hormonal. Adrenaline can cause so many bodily symptoms. OY!

Gentleness to You and Yours~

Thanks guys, I appreciate the help. I was obsessing about it yesterday and my boyfriend told me that I didn't feel hot to him. And so I took my temperature and it was normal. It's so hard to shake these scary thoughts, isn't it?! I really struggle with it when I become worried. I'm trying to rationalize.
Thanks again :D
