I went to an outdoor concert yesterday evening (at a church) and listened to some nice folk/gospel music while the sun was setting. What a peaceful evening it was indeed. Tonight I went to a hymn sing/campfire at another church.....awesome! I LOVE that folk music and I LOVE old church hymns!!!

This a chorus of one of the hymns we sang; many things about tomorrow I don't seem to understand, but I know who holds tomorrow, and I know...who holds my hand! :)

ahhhhhh "I know who holds tomorrow"...that brings me back..wayyyyy back to sitting on my mothers lap in church and she sings like a bird..those are the best memories I have of "Mom"(before her illness set in) and I will cherish them forever!!! Thanks for the "memories"....
God bless you
"O God, you are my God. Earnestly I seek you;my soul thirsts for you, my body longs for you, in a dry and weary land where there is no water. I have seen you in the sanctuary and beheld your power and your glory. Because your love is BETTER than life,my lips will glorify you. I will praise you as long as I live, and in your name, I will lift up my hands." Psalms 63

That was my Great Grandmothers favorite, Roger my mothers cousin would sing that for her, I love that old hymn, the new ones are OK, but the old ones, stick I guess because they are what I grew up with, and it seems that is where we are stuck, music holds such good memories. When my grandmother went in to the rest home, I made a cosset tape of her record collection, and asked them to play it in the speaker, every one in there loved the old tuns, it made them feel young again, brought back the memories of when they were healthy, and free from the fetters of age. Good to find an old friend tonight.
God Bless you real good to see you! I must admit you are allot younger than I imagined.
God Bless you

speaking of words in Hymns, this was and still is a help to my heart. "You don't need to understand, you just need to hold His hand, you don't ever have to ask the reason whyyy... for I know He'll make a way, through the night and through the day, I don't need to understand, I just need to hold His hand." ;)

I love that one too.
My favorite is "This world is not my home" I'm just a passing through ... that helps me when I get to thinking how much I have lost, it give me a perspective, on how much is laid up and how little I really need here.

When you said it helps you when you think of what you lost...Man I can relate to that. The losses I've experienced because of my avoidance and depression are overwhelming. I've learned how to not think at times. It's amazing how many ways to avoid. But now that I'm facing the "program" and what has brought me to this place.,there is no more running. I'm so thankful that God is the same always.

I just wanted to mention that it's natural to think of what's been lost. I do frequently. But I try real hard to see what good has come from the "worst" points in my life- whether it be compassion for someone else who is suffering in place of judgement, people that have learned from my experiences, the times I heard "I Love You and we'll get through this together" etc.
I guess if we didn't have trials and tribuations, there wouldn't be much understanding and growth. It was a true blessing for me to be talking to a lady, trying to comfort her about her upcoming divorce, when she said," I don't know if you know, but I suffer from terrible anxiety and crying spells." I felt so warm inside to say that I knew a little about that (LOL- I think I could almost write a book) and to offer her use of this program. And others around us have been a whole lot more sensitive to her having been through some of this with me. It'd make it worth it to me to ease another's burden. After all, countless people here have done the same for me :)
I hope some of that made sense...

The wilderness is full of good intentions. but in the end it is all temporal. I have been out here for nearly 59 years, and I have had many experiences that help me to help others to overcome, for we are called to be over comers, and to help others through what we have been prepared to help others with. but at time I get wherry of doing good, I get tired of all the preparation, and appreciate the hope, of the Peace in Eternity, from all the lessons in the Wilderness of life. That is [to me} what that hymn is all about.
