Alcohol Grrrr
I decided last night I would have a few cans of beer, So I had 6
All was fine at the time and I felt great, I got up this morning, went for a walk and felt not to bad, But now the anxiety and depression has kicked in and I feel like $hit, I don't normally drink so I'm lost as to how to cure it, I just feel very on edge and can't relax long enough to do anything. Any advice much appreciated

Man I used to get the same exact feeling the morning after...while you are drinking everything is great, you feel like you can tackle the world. Next morning I'd be shaking, couldn't sleep, pulse was racing 100 miles an hour, and it would snowball from there. You just have to ride it out, and usually something to eat will help the normal hangover symptoms. Funny thing is I used to drink like a fish before I started having problems with anxiety and never had these issues. I know the yeast in beer converts to sugar supposedly, and sugar is not good for anxiety. I can definetly tell a difference in my body during anxiety times with sugar and caffine.
I used to be the same, I used to drink like a fish and had no issues, Now the get terrible anxiety, infact I am house bound the following day as I get panic attacks if I go out and it also triggers IBSOriginally posted by NewOrleansMike:

I think you maybe right, My body is telling me I'm not cut out for Alcohol anymore, You've just got up at noon!!! Wish I could lie that long, its almost 6pm here, been up from 6.30am to watch the BasketballOriginally posted by cuttingirl:
I have this problem with a different substance. It is challenging! I am thinking about you, having just gotten up myself, it's noon, and I'm feeling some of the same body complaints. Maybe we are getting old!
Celeron: Hang in there...just a few more hours and you can go back to bed and get a really good nite sleep and you'll feel so much better tomorrow. I agree,,,maybe I'm getting older too and can't handle the alcohol...I can't stand wasting the entire next day feel hung over and anxious and withdrawn, etc. So not worth it. The withdrawal from alcohol the next day is deadly...just got to ride it out. Good Luck.

Alcohol is a depressant and if you have any problems at all with depression, the alcohol will make it worse after it wears off. We also don't metabolize it as fast as we get older so it stays in your system longer. One glass of wine now and then is it for me now. It's not worth feeling like crap the next day when you over do it.
