Hi,

I am 45 yo and have been recovered from depression anxiety for 5 years. I had a run in with my son. I thought he broke something special of mine on purpose and I had a complete crying melt down. It has left me in a vulnerable state of anxiety / depression and I can't sleep well. It was a total overreaction over nothing but I now feel depressed and anxious. I was feeling great before this????

Have you been able to discuss this with your son? Have you/are you able to say "I was wrong. Please forgive me?" Are you forgiving yourself or beating yourself up over a mistake?
For me, resolving this would bring about a huge sense of relief and lift the burden. Until I at least tried, it'd be an all-consuming issue. Good luck.

Thanks for the reply - i think i am in the beating self up stage and will try to get past that. My son does forgive me and that does help. I will let my mistake go and put it down as learning: under react and don't jump to conclusions.
