Having to get new doctor
Fischee,
WHO KNOWS where these people come from. It's amazing that some docs care about their work and for some it's strictly a job.
This one told me if there's ever an emergency, don't call him. He has a life too. (which I have no problem with). Usually they say to call their office if during business hours and speak to their nurse and go to the ER after hours.
He probably can't afford a nurse. He charged me an extra buck fifty to run a forty dollar charge on my credit card for a processing fee. I've never heard of such!
OH WELL- LOL

bevhenbree- Had to kind of laugh at this one, as one of my previous psych's said the same thing. I was working at the time and the only time I could schedule an appt. was after 4:30. He said he wasn't taking appts. anymore after 4:30 because as he stated "I have a life too you know." Another one left me sitting waiting for 2 hours in the office with all three of his dogs sitting there staring at me and when I moved they would growl at me while he was out discussing house improvements with his contractor! I never went back to either one.
UNBELIEVABLE. Not only unprofessional but didn't they take an oath of ethics??? I've worked my way through some real doozies, but none like this. I STILL firmly believe that they're working for ME and had better treat me pleasantly and with MY best interests in mind.
Isn't there some saying in the business world that if you please one person, they'll tell 10; but when you cross one, they'll tell 100??? Don't know if I got this right, but I sure do believe it.

Well, maybe the guy was having a bad day, but I think I'll try my luck elsewhere. Really the major issue was not requesting my records- I've been through a lot that wasn't covered in his quetionaire. All that would be lost.
And, that he's not comfortable with my patch, an MAOI. He said it was a great anti-depressant, but he couldn't increase it and guarantee that I wouldn't be in a car wreck (wow, what positive thinking!) b/c I can't have Demerol on it with the blood pressure risk. The first thing I had said was that I was happy with the med I was on at that dosage and was looking for non-medicating ways to combat D & A (which is slow, but surely having a very positive effect).
Oh, and when he asked how my sex life "was treating me." I can think of a dozen ways to tastefully ask if there's a problem with intimacy......I should have zinged him back on that one.
Anyway, My old doc's replacement is seeing me Sept 2- so good news on the horizon. She'll already have my chart!

Congrats on getting in to see your old dr.'s replacement- you deserve it! Great job on exercising your assertion... isn't that in one lesson or another? (I think I skipped that one, I'm not much of a "yes" person and tend to be a wee bit agressive to people who tick me off
).
Again, GOOD FOR YOU!

Yes, I had taken a list of meds and doctors. One doc was listd a temporary replacment for the other. When he asked why, I said my regular (bone and joint) doc had open heart surgery a month ago, and someone was filling in. He said "NO SH*T??? He's not that old." And it just went from there.
But then I had a lawyer who cussed like crazy- on the first visit. He referred to my ex as the SOB instead of his name. He used the "f" word a whole lot. Like "Why are we divorcing here- What the "f" is the problem?" Hhmmm- I ALWAYS talk to stangers and especially potential clients that way- NOT! Just gotta shake your head and go on....
