Great thread here. Mornings are my doom. Yes doom! Even if I do sleep which is not often. I have noted for the past few months my new marriage which also included a 4 yr old high energy young lad is at the bottom of some of it. It isnt all his fault as it happened before. The exercising has worked the best for me. I am on a ton of dope for back pain and depression due to a son being murdered and so on. Carry on with the positive, it will work out for you in time, Bruce

Wow, I am learning what has been going on with me by reading what is going on with you guys. I didn't realize what anxiety really was. I watch tv at night so I don't think and then wake up just like you guys. I'm not alone. The doctors just diagnose me with anxiety years ago and take this pill and thats that, then panic attacks, change meds, quit job, can't go to school, can't go to store, then I critize my grown children and their spouses horribly to the point they want nothing to do with me and I can't blame them. Why does my mouth run off and find fault with them, the doctor said the medicine takes away my inhibitions, why didn't he tell me that to begin with. spell it out. The kids don't understand at all and have left me to rot. Nobody understands this stuff, absolutely nobody that hasn't had it.

I've also been having a lot of anxiety 3 or 4 a.m. I'll lay in bed thinking I should get up and do something (exercise) but end up watching the clock - then I "beat myself up" for wasting that time.
I had read some of your post last night and this morning was better -I was able to talk postively. It was helpful to know other do the same Thanks

I don't like mornings either. I wake up feeling like I've been tensing my muscles all night long. I feel so tight and exhausted. So now I'm on Klonopin to help me relax. But I feel down and nauseaus every morning until I've eaten breakfast and showered. I even have wondered if it is a blood sugar issue. Once I'm at work, I get so busy that I don't notice my anxiety. But it seems like the mornings are the worst.

Hey everyone, have a great day! :)

I know that anything that we don't like we naturally resist. If we know we are going to feel horrible in the morning and we don't like it, we will automatically try to resist it and thus the suppression of feelings blows up the anxiety. Loving & accepting ourselves ALONG with loving and accepting these horrible feelings in the mornings (no it's NOT easy)and allowing them to be there as long as they want is the secret to the way OUT. In allowing and loving and finding gratitude in difficult times, it gives heed to expression instead of suppression... One day they will be gone.

Some people are sensitive to the blood sugar drop at nite since we usually go 8 hours or so without eating. I take a piece of whole grain bran bread and a banana with me when I go to bed and make sure I eat something as soon as I wake up in the morning. It's made a big difference in the morning anxiety.

I love all of you!

These forums are a blessing.

I'm doing this drug free, and have progressed alot in 5 months, but boy...i'm battling some adrenaline this morning.

i usually find that running and weight training work wonders for me.

With me, every morning between 5-6 a.m., I wake up with my heart pounding, mouth dry and a choking feeling. I'm so fed up with beginning each day like this. I lay in bed and try to slow my heart down with the 2-4 breathing that this program teaches and search my mind (yeah, frantically) for positive affirmations; grab on to one or two i.e., "i am strong", "I am capable", try to fill my mind with soothing thoughts....

*sigh*

sometimes it helps me...mostly, no, it doesn't..at least not for long. And yes, I keep going back to .."the breath..the breath...just focus on the breath" and I DO remember to try and float, don't fight, etc....

I just wish SOOOO much that I didn't awaken each day like this...

Any suggestions would be greatly welcome.

Thanks in advance.

Blessings~
