Hi Holly,
Did John send you a taper schedule? I went to theroadback site and the ativan schedule has been removed(???). The schedules for klono, ambien, and several antidepressants are still posted and are free (chapter 18).

I also went to a couple other sites people had posted for tapering, and now everyone is charging and pushing their supplements- RIDICULOUS!

Anyway, I do have theroadback book and I know it has an ativan taper (that's what I originally ordered it for), so if you still want/need the schedule I can pm you or even post it here so everyone can see it for FREE!

Just keep in mind while "weaning" off your drugs, that feelings of unwell may NOT be withdrawal, but a sign that you still need the medication, or a return of symptoms if you will. You started these meds for a reason, and if the condition still exists, it WILL return when the meds are stopped if plan B is not already in place. So don't be so quick to assume you are withdrawing and not relapsing. Just my 2 cents........good luck.

How about this? I'v weened off the anti-depressant a little over a month ago. Don't ask me which...I've tried them all...just about. No MAOI's yet. But I have a constant swish-swish sound in my head. Hell, I thought the anxiety was hard to beat but this swishing makes me think I am half empty headed. Relte anyone?

Trying to avoid Ativan, I have actually found that eating a bowl of Oatmeal before bed has helped me quite a bit. I also ride an exercise bike 20-30 minutes in the morning before I get ready for work.

I used to hear sounds that weren't there when i was on Prozac. Maybe an after effect?

I am not sure why you would be weaning off ativan at all since you have found something that works for you. I have been taking xanex for 12 years now and this is the chemical that I am missing naturally in my system that causes a chemical imbalance. I have been on every (maybe not every) but well over 15 different antidepressants alone & in combo & nothing ever lasts for my depression. Management with therapy & the guided imagery help with this but the anexity for me is chemical imbalance. I have built up tolerance to the medication & from time to time they switch me to ativan or valium but ultimately xanex is what works best. I take 4 mgs. throughout the day. They do not make me sleepy or anything else other than calmer. I still have anxiety & depression but the chronic anexity is 100% better with the medication. I hope you find that you don't need ativan when you are through with your trial period & if not I hope you consider that it could be chem. imbalance & that your adrenial gland is what produces adrenline & like me it could just be over producing.
Please don't be disturbed by my misspellings. I never one a spelling bea! Good Luck to you & thanks for taking the time to read another opinion. Take Care.
