That's good to know. I have a strong history of breast cancer in my family so I've been told HRT isn't an option, but I think that is estrogen isn't it? If so, maybe I can do the progesterone.

One important issue I failed to tell you gals, is it's imperative you have your blood work done on day 19 and at the latest day 20 of your cycle. Dr. Neu (short for Neuenschwander) told me the reason my previous blood work didn't show much was because it was drawn 'whenever' within my cycle rather than on a specific day. This made ALL the difference - and he said - man girl no wonder you're so full of anxiety!! You have almost no progesterone on a day you should have a bunch. I could try to locate someone for you in your area - possibly - through many contacts I have throughout the country. Or at least lead you to someone to call to find someone in the know. Blessings to all ~

MariaSue - I had a checkup with my doctor today and he actually wants another hormone panel run so he can see my progress. Amazing I think being we were just talking about it. I have the order in front of me, but have to wait for the blood draw on day 19. Being I'm currently in a PMS mode...and about to start my cycle....I'll have to wait a bit before I head to the lab. Here is what he ordered. HOMCYSP (Homocysteine) VITD25H (OH Vitamin D) DHEAS (DHEA - sulfate) PROG (Progesterone) TES (Testosterone) ESTROFRARP (Fractionated Estrogen) COR (Cortisol) The last blood draw I know he also ordered ESTRA (Estradiol) but it's not on this order. Diagnosis he has circled "Hormone Imbalance" "Vitamin B12 Deficiency" "Vitamin D Deficiency" Hope this helps!!!

Hi, i am only 36 years old, and i am now wondering after reading these entries whether i am entering perimenopause? My core temp has seemed to have risen in teh last year, as i was always cold, now i am kicking off the covers at night alot. also, my anxiety and related symptoms have really been bad since teh fall of 07'. I have had off balance, lightheaded type symptoms, and i seem to be more emotional.

I have off-balance lightheaded type symptoms lately myself. I'm 41. Is this hormonal? I have wondered if it's hormones or possibly just sinus pressure or maybe needing to see a chiropractor. It's almost like I feel like I'm going to pass out. But, I know I won't. . .if that makes sense. I don't really stress about it except it's annoying.

I am so glad I found this post! Great info from everyone. This is exactly where I am at currently and sometimes feel like I am going crazy! I am 49 and know that this recent bout of anxiety/depression is hormone related, although am just getting a hormone panel done tomorrow at my primary care doctor. When I went to my OB/GYN months ago with severe panic and anxiety she put me on estogen simply based on my symtoms. No test, just a 5 minute conversation (I was a new patient). Well I have done tons of research on the internet, talking to lots and lots of women, and books. There is no magic test or pill that will make this all go away. Every woman is different, and we each have to seek our own solutions. Herbs, HTR, vitamins, bio-identical hormone replacement, ect. There are so many options. Eat right (cut out sugar and simple carbs), exercise, Yoga, meditation, therapy....do what you need to do that is right for you. My mother's periods stopped at 53. I have 2 older sister (one is 52, one 50) who are still having periods. So I have a way to go. Man it has been really tough the last few months, but before that OK. I pray I find my answer. Please keep this going so we can all feel we have a place to go to feel like we are not alone.

The light headed spacy disconnected feelings are hormonal and also from panic attacks. So it's a double edged sword. I find when I'm in a PMS mode, like I am today, those feelings are there regardless of whether I'm anxious or not. Yesterday my husband and I were at the mall and I had to have him walk me to the car because the lightheaded thing hit - and when it hits I get worried about it - which produces anxiety and even MORE lightheaded feelings. Ughhh I've come a long way and thank God everyday that I can even function, because for many months I was house bound. Now I'm just dealing with hormonal symptoms when my period is coming on, of which doc said would dissolve after we get my progesterone up where it should be. Can't wait for that day!!!

Faith - I forgot to respond totally and wanted to before I head out. Yes I do feel like I'm going to pass out when it hits. It's a scary feeling, but through Lucinda's program I've learned to calm myself and so far I haven't passed out. I sing on our Praise Team at church, so during specific times of the month I'm very nervous about singing because I get dizzy and disoriented, and adding singing on the team to the mix....I've been very concerned. But so far no passing out and I don't plan to - even though sometimes it feels like I will.

I was late going into menopause but I have had the same high anxiety feelings that alot of you have described. Some days are worse than others and I am trying to pinpoint why. I, too have had the dizzy, lightheadedness at times. I am trying to deal with this but it is really hard. Also, I have heart palpitations and mitral valve prolaspe has been ruled out.
