I guess it is lexapro in the states. I have a few questions for anyone who has taken this?

How were your side effects? I am feeling worse but I will take the side effects if it helps my anxiety and deppression. It has been 5 days and I am losing weight! I can not afford to lose weight. Any suggestions to stop with this?

Thanks so much

lexapro is just like all the others, for me it makes me too jittery, with hot flashes alot and I am all over the place. It makes me happy but for some reason, anything that I take that heightens my body I get weak. My joints start hurting alot, and my thought process speeds up and makes me have to go to the bathroom more often. Diarrhea is definitely one of the more common side effects from it but if you beat through these side effects and give it time to work and you start feeling better then stick with it obviously. This is what happened to me, when I took it, not saying that it will ever happen to you harlow. It might be your guided saint for you, who knows! All the best to you harlow.

I tried it too, gave it 2 full weeks, side effects were major nausea, no appetite, and like you....I could NOT afford to lose any more weight. I also felt like it made me more anxious. I did 5 mgs for a week and the went up to 10mg for a week at my docs advice. I HAD to stop. My stomach is sensitive to my anxiety anyway, so MORE nausea is not what I needed. Good luck.

R called my psychiatrist and he said it was all me not the pill so i kept taking it and now i dont get does burning sensations i only take 5mg noway im going to upgrade !! i feel when you first start to take it, it makes your anxiety level go more high but gets better over time.

Thanks all for all the responses ..it really helps knowing I am not alone in the way I am feeling.

It has been a week on 5mg of Cipralex and the side effects are very bad for me. I am aware that it can get worse before it gets better so I am continuing on. I am soo anxious and my appetite is non existant. I really feel like a walking zombie.

Please tell me it will get better ..I feel like I am losing my mind. I do not know if I can take weeks of this feeling but not sure what choice I have...I need to get better and regain my life.

The side effects for me lessened after about 3 and a half weeks, it could be different for others but thats what happened when I took it.

harlow-

I just got done reading the post above me from you and this is what I think. You have to go through the process of side effects before you can experience the benefit of the drug. You have to take the bad before you can get the good. That goes with any of this anti-anxiety or depression medications. There is always going to be side effects, some worse then others when going through it for the first few weeks or so. Its now August 13th and I am guessing youve been on the medication (if you havent given up yet)for about over 3 weeks now and I am wondering how things are going so far for you and want to know if your side effects have lessened? You want that new life that all of us want but it requires a hard journey to get it and I hope you are still continuing it!?

Thanks for asking about me:) I appreciate that.

I am still on it and the side effects are gone though I am still only on 5mg..suppose to move up to 10 but too scared. The SE's were scary to me. I realize my anxiety & negative thinking amplipfy this feeling.

I have started the program and learning a lot..I just need to apply it which is the hardest. The retarining of my thinking is quite challenging.
