OK so I realize this does have something to do with my hormones. Last month around this same time I had these feelings too. I get super tired and than get all this weird energy which turns into to anxiety. My swallowing issues have come up AGAIN and it seriously takes so long for me to get back on track with this. It is 2 weeks before my period and this is how it was last month. i am getting a lot of anxiety and my throat feels like i cannot swallow and just now i was eating a gummi bear and i kinda choked on it and spit it out. It was so scary. Has anyone kinda choked on something because of swallowing issues ? I know my hormones are def playing a part in this because it was just like this last month. . Weird but even on the same date last month. . I keep track lol. Last month it scared me because i didn't know what it really was. Now im sure its my hormones making my anxiety high and making my throat feel this way. I am not making myself panic like i could be . . in fact i am dealing with this pretty well considering . . But even when i am not panicking I am still getting these bouts of me not being able to swallow. Than that frightens me. . its like will i get this even when i am not very anxious? Maybe this has something to do with my hormones??? I am also feeling like i will stop breathing too. i hate this. My hormones are making me relapse every month. i get better and than get real bad around this time and than have to clean up the mess every month. This is terrible!!I feel like i have a lot of saliva in my mouth yet its hard to swallow? how do i deal with this? It more uncomfortable than anything. . I am a little scared My throat will close up! Like i said last month i stopped taking bc pills 3 months ago. . I felt like i was better on them than off. I don't think i got this bad ever on them . I already did a blood test last week to check my hormone levels but have not gotten the results yet. . its driving me a little nuts. I will be seeing an herbalist and hopefully he will be able to prescribe me a tea that will help to balance me out all month. I cannot live this way the rest of my life. Its awful!! Any advice would be great. Thank you

In the past I had terrible periods, my anxiety was so high just like yours. I was so mad because it would start 2 weeks before I was even due to begin. I ended up having my hormones checked and it came back that I had very low testosrone. So I began bioidentical hormone pellets. They are all natural and the just insert them in your upper buttock area. Your body just uses it as needed. Most times I would only need to go in for a new one every 6 months. It worked wonderfully. I never even felt my period coming, it would appear and disappear before I knew it. I also had more energy. And tons more libido. :) I did have a few side effects though. My voice began lowering and I got unwanted hair. I think my testoerone levels were to high, and needed to be adjusted. Anyway, I think it is good that you are getting your hormones tested. There is a web site called womentowomen.com there is a lot of information....you just have to search around.I hope you get them all leveled out. I know it is hard! I also read abook called once a month. Alot of helpful information in there as well. I really feel for you and what you are going through.

Holly, have you ever had a problem with speaking up for yourself? Sometimes that manifests in your throat.

...in the meantime, while you get to the bottom of what's causing this, you can coax your throat muscles to aid your swallowing by having a few long sips of water before you swallow solid things. It's not a cure, but might help. Good luck. Pecos.

Hi Holly,

I can definitely relate! My period knocks me for a loop every single month. I think I feel good less days then more during the month! First, I get it 2 weeks before (just like you) and then usually during. I then feel good until ovulation comes around and it just starts all over! I almost died when I read the part where you have too much saliva! I have had that for like the past 2 years and feel like I am always swallowing. I feel so much better knowing you have the same thing. I hate my period! My anxiety escalates so bad...I have really bad dizziness, chest pain, shortness of breath, muscle aches....ugh......Sometimes I hate being a woman! You are definitely not alone though!!!
