Hi,
My husband and I have just moved to a house quiet isolated in the countryside. It's really nice and quiet but scares me as well.. He goes out to work everyday and I stay indoors (working from home),but am scared to go out. I do to go our with him and sometimes I have a great time yet some other times I feel like i'm going to faint or die.. I feel quite lonely and although I keep myself busy by doing excercise everyday and housework. But I just feel like nothing.. Like I don't live. And it scares me so much i wake up at night panicking, not knowing what to do with myself..
Juat wondered if anyone has these thoughts as well? And if so how you dealt with them?
Thanks,
Cat

Have you considered going out to volunteer or finding a local church group or other group of interest where you can meet people? If you interact with others, perhaps you can get outside of your feelings by distracting yourself from them.

Hope this helps!

Sunbound is right. Getting involved and meeting friends helps. When you are stuck inside alone most of the time, and even your work is at home, you don't have a lot of interaction. Here is a question for you...what is your life's passion? Do you know what your purpose in life is? It sounds as though you have lost a feeling of purpose, and if you haven't already, you can really quickly in this situation.
Devote some time to help OTHERS in an area that burns on your heart. If you don't know what that passion or purpose is, then use some of your time to research and get in touch with what that is. It will bring the spark and happiness back into your life.
Also, of course use the techniques in the program to deal with the thoughts/fears and panic attacks so you can get past those.
Perhaps this change is bothering you...do you feel like you have lost some of yourself because of it or the life you thought you would have? Perhaps these things are scaring you....get in touch with your feelings about this change in your life, and what the things you are worrying about are. You will need the techniques in the program to really help you sort through it all and change those thought patterns and get busy LIVING! Be blessed and know that this happens to A LOT of us, and we get better...and so will you. You are not alone.

Thanks for your replies sunbound and francesl. You are so right i have lost something in myself... I'm a musician although haven't played in a long time just too busy thinking about things that i don't have the motivation to compose or record.. I know i can and sure it would make me feel better so i don't understand why i don't do it for myself.. I should go and meet people I'd like to just scared i'd look silly if i panic or if they think that i'm weird because i don't even know who i am. I really need a change.. I've noticed though that running away from panic just creats more panic.. Yesterday i went for a walk and everytime i felt panicky i stopped instead of running and it helped. So i guess i have to do the same about meeting people.. Not run away and stop being so self obsessed..

Maybe there's a local venue where you can share your music! If that sounds too far fetched for now, at least start playing the music you've composed already. Try to do that for just 15 minutes a day, even!

Best wishes to you!
