Question?
Debbie
When I had such severe anxiety I too felt my arms and legs were so heavy. My whole being felt heavy, like the blood had been drained from me. I will say I don't feel this way any longer. The program has helped me so much. I do believe anxiety can give us most any symptom, so yes it could very well be anxiety related.
If you are still questioning this, just go to your doctor and have it checked out, maybe this will make you feel better.
I wish you the very best

Debbie,
I feel that way. Right now my arms feel like they are being weighted down. I always have these problems when I have anxiety. I have a lot of muscle tension and heaviness throughout my body. I constantly rub the back of my neck to try to release some tension.
I hope this goes away for both of us soon.

Hi Jenny,
Thnaks for your reply, sorry you are going through this as well, I hear you about the neck and back tension, sometimes I feel like I am 90 years old.
I saw my chriopracter last night and I asked her about this, and she said that it is from improper breathing, and the tension in my muscles. She said people that have a problem with anxiety do not breath correctly, we tend to shallow breath form the chest and when we do that for a long period of time our body's oxygen level goes down. And as far as the muscle tension all over our body it can constric the blood flow, because everything is so tight. I guess it makes sence.
I am going to try to work on the breathing first and hopefuly it will help with the muscle tension.
Hope this helps

Debbie,
First, hello. And hello jchick. I have a lot of neck and back tension lately, so I "feel your pain" LOL! The deep breathing does help, if I could just learn to sit up straight and breath deep more often. HAHAHAHA Sometimes, it feels like my neck muscles are 2 or 3 times heavier also. Massage and relaxation do help.
We who are depressed say, never give up, never surrender.

Hello Debbie,
If you are worried about neck problems causing "heaviness" it is unlikely due to the neck. If you have some neck problems and narrowing of that area of the spine you would be more likely to get shooting pain down your arms and at times "weakness". If you are having pain - there could be some impingement of the nerves coming out of the spinal canal.
I have been having ongoing problems with neck pain - tried chiropractor and made it worse. I am now trying accupuncture again - this has helped me in the past with neck pain. Although, my MRI doesn't look too good - I have some bone spurring on in the interior of the spine and narrowing between the vertebra. *sigh*
My anxiety is off the charts - and sometimes I am not sure if the pain is triggering my anxiety attacks, or if the anxiety is triggering the muscle tension worsening the pain!! Ohhhhhhhh...what a wicked circle.
Take Care
God Bless

Hello Faith40 and also everyone else...
I also have a neck injury which was healing up okay. I was having panic attacks which caused crazy neck pain, extremem headaches, and just overall sick from it. I just had an MRI, do not have the results yet, but they think it is just muscular. Panic attacks and anxiety cause major neck problems....I sometiems feel so stiff like it is going to spin off my body, or my neck is shaking. But really it is just the anxiety. It just feels good knowing we are not alone!!!
