Hi guys, you are not alone at all,
I'm 21, and have been feeling fatigue with flu like symptoms, and all other chest pains, muscle aches and etc for 3 years!!! I had panic attacks as well. All my tests are fine, including CT scan! It started when I was 19, before I was very well physically developed man :? Recently I had again one panic attack, and now I am on Effexor 75mg. It seems to relieve my symptoms up to some point. Has any one tried that? My Doc thinks that I have either anxiety or depression, but I am sure I do not.

I also feel better at night, than during a day, it seems to me that as if a certain infection is active during the day and inactive at night. Can it be Constant Fatigue Syndrome? None of the doctors believe me, because I look normal and healthy????? But I feel like a 100 years old!

And one more thing: You are all talking about anxiety, as if it causes flu like symptoms, Do you all feel that anxiety, or your doctor made you believe in that?! If you feel the same way, just shoot me an e-mail, together it's easier to find the right solution...

I have the same problem with chills and feeling nauseas at times. In the past year or so, I've had blood tests and everything, and nothing came back.

After doing some research on anxiety disorder, I defiantly think my health issues are being caused by it. All the anxiety and stress over time causes strain on your body, and I defiantly think that's what's happen to me.

I'm 20 and sometimes I feel twice my age. But I try to remind myself that it's only the anxiety and get through it. That always helps.

I woke up on November 11, 2005 with what I thought was the flu - but it didn't go away. I eventually lost my job and was diagnosed with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome as the doctors could find nothing wrong with me. I spent the next several months in bed.

When I found this program, I didn't have any idea that anxiety was causing my problems. No doctor told me that anxiety could make you physically ill. I just figured that since I couldn't seem to do anything about my physical health, I would work on my mental health. Surprising, within 3 weeks of starting this program, I was able to get a part-time job. Now I'm physically back to where I was before. I'm still working on my anxiety issues, but I'm now recovered enough that I am looking for full-time work.

This program has given me my life back.

Hey Holly,

I can relate to this oh so well and I'm 27. I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia about 2 months ago and the doctor prescribed me Lyrica for the aches and pains. I haven't tried the medication yet for a few reasons mainly because my pains come and go and don't like relying on a pill if I don't have to take it. My doctor explained how anxiety/and fibromyalgia are related (in my case) and that once the anxiety is treated correctly then the pains should go away. Which makes sense. I too, feel like an old woman. I feel more like 87 than 27 at times and YES a lack of sleep can make your whole body out of wack at times. I have low-grade fevers often but notice they get worse when I take different medications. And YES - *lol* I can relate to the whole boyfriend thing so I come on here as well to talk to others who can understand. I notice when I'm out and about (taking a walk at a park or something) and not in a stressful situation (such as work) I feel so much better. The mind can do so much but the key is to keep busy by doing things that you like. There are so many days I sleep the pain away and realize that doesn't get me anywhere. Anxiety is a horrible thing to go through but know you're not alone and that we're here for ya! Good luck and I hope things get better over there! Please keep in touch :)!

I get a sore throat too. Does any one else get a sore throat on top of this? I am so sad b/c I have flu-like symptoms every month for some reason. I thought I had a sinus infection so I took antibiotics. It seemed to have worked I guess. I have it again this month?! This is how mine starts: I have a 5 month old and I have been seriously deprived of sleep. I always seem to get more fatigue, heart palps, and low exercise tolerance prior to each time I get these episodes. I feel sooo tired and weak and nauseous and then the next day I get the sore throat in the middle of the nite and then the terrible aches in my neck and shoulders--like a burning ache. By the next day it spreads to the lower torso. My hips and back and legs. I had my thyroid tested too and it was negative. How long does your episodes last? Mine seem to last several days into the week. I have to take motrin or tylenol when these happen or I cannot sleep and then I am really screwed. I know that being sleep deprived is a major trigger. I do aerobics 5 days a week and I always have bad aches after the workouts. I just don't know what to do?

I'm new to this forum and will be starting the program again as soon as I get the cd/dvd version in the mail. I bought the tapes version in 1999, but no longer have anything to play them on! Plus my old workbook is all marked up. I started the program back then and got all the way through lesson 7, but never finished because I no longer had panic attacks. But, I still had depression symptoms, so I began taking Paxil in early 2001. Well, recently I decided it was time to reduce the dosage of it very slowly with the blessing of my doctor. Well, six months later the panic attacks are back, and I'm back to starting over with the program. Anyway, sometime back in 2001 or 02 I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia & Chronic Fatigue. Now, reading all your posts, I'm wondering if they are caused by stress and anxiety? Wow, food for thought. Thanks for listening!
Take care,
Anne
