Hi all.
I thought I would start a thread just for thoughts, prayers, and any words of comfort for the loved ones of David Bassett, especially Lucinda and her famly.
She has been there for me during my own times of personal loss and now it's time we return tha favor.
Lucinda,
My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. I just listened to the "I will be there for you" CD and I thought, "David reminds me so much of my boyfriend Michael, so easy going and supportive".
He was. I feel as if I knew him myself just by your stories that you shared on the cd's.
May Sammy and Britney get through this very hard time as well.
My thoughts and prayers are with you all!
Lisa

Also, this is from the Obituary Section in the Port Clinton Newspaper
David Bassett, 53, passed away on June 7, 2008.
David was born in Port Clinton on September 28, 1954 to Richard and Dorothy (Dewey) Bassett. In 1983, he married Lucinda Reddick.
David approached life with a fearless, take-no-prisoners attitude that won him many friends over the years. He spread enthusiasm throughout his life, living in places as diverse as Oak Harbor, Ohio; Jackson Hole, Wyoming; and Malibu, California. He was a cook, snowboarder, Buckeye fan, businessman, motorcyclist, and devoted father to his and Lucinda's two children, Brittany and Sammy. His sense of humor and fun was legendary, and almost anyone who met him has a "David story" to tell. David was a 1976 graduate of the Ohio State University, with a degree in Horticulture from the College of Agriculture.
David is survived by his wife, Lucinda, his children, Brittany and Sammy, his parents, Richard and Dorothy, and a brother, Mike (Debbi) Bassett. A sister, Jody (Tom) Stoyan, preceded him in death.
Memorials: Contributions may be made to the David B. Bassett Memorial Scholarship, c/o the Ottawa County Community Foundation, PO Box 36, Port Clinton, OH 43452.

You are a friend to so very many of us, and have help us find ourselves and we love you for that. Like LD26 was saying you and David have felt like we knew you and felt like you have seemed as you have walk us through life. We would like to help you walk through your difficult time. From the books and program we seen David as a special person that you was blessed to have in your life.
Please give Brittany and Sammy a huge hug for us. And don't forget to hug yourself also.
We love you and pray you have comfort today and all days.

"O God, you are my God. Earnestly I seek you;my soul thirsts for you, my body longs for you, in a dry and weary land where there is no water. I have seen you in the sanctuary and beheld your power and your glory. Because your love is BETTER than life,my lips will glorify you. I will praise you as long as I live, and in your name, I will lift up my hands." Psalms 63
My thoughts and prayers go out to Lucinda and David's family. This is a sad situation. Remember your faith in god and Do not underestimate the value of your prayers. The Bible says: "A righteous man's supplication . . . has much force." (James 5:16)
We are here when you need us. Lucinda, you and your program have been a god-sent to all of us and we are here to return the favor.
God Bless.
