My pleasure Momurph, and Holly too,

I'm sure my herbalist and/or his receptionists can talk with you more about it when you call them. I don't know how his work compares to a naturopath. My herbalist does simple muscle testing where I push against his hand or wrist so that he can test how strong I am in relation to various herbs and/or body or health issues. It seems very unorthodox, but me and my friend can assure you that it really works.

He has a direct personality, but I ignore the personal flaws and accept his help as he obviously is doing wonders for many people. We are all flawed in some way or another. My trust in him comes from my friend's (and my) recovery evidence, his story of how he saved his wife and child, and the fact that he has a Ph.d. in nutrition as well as his professional work over the past 20+ years. He's very resourceful.

Good luck. :)

Dear Eileen,
I know you were writing to Holly, but I read your post and wanted to thank you for providing the name of your herbalist. I too have internal infections and inflammation (I have chronic fatigue and fibromyalgia, plus had Mono a few years ago which still flares up now and then.) I have been on a variety of medications which I am not happy about, but right now they keep me functioning (I have two little girls who I need to be awake for!)

I will definitely check into your herbalist. I have seen a couple naturapaths in the past who I didn't have a great feeling about. Is an herbalist the same as a naturopath? And I do know that not all doctors are the same. Your guy sounds wonderful. I wish I lived in California!

Thanks again,
Maureen

He is on the Central Coast of California in Arroyo Grande. Close to Pismo Beach, about 1 1/2 hours north of Santa Barbara, off of hwy 101. You may be able to work with him long distance. You can call his office on Monday and they will be very helpful in answering any questions you may have.

Momurph, I also wanted to say that I know how you must feel about having your two little girls and trying to keep up with them while struggling with all of your pain and health issues. I have a 6 year daughter and it has been a struggle for me as well. It's really hard to see other moms running and keeping up with their little ones and know that I can't go that fast. I'm happy for those who can and can understand others like you and I that struggle. It's getting better for me now and it will for you too. The herbs that I am taking along with Lucinda's program have done wonders for me. And you should be applauded for your efforts and for doing your best with your little ones, considering your situation. I know how us moms hide our pain from our kids because we love them so much and want them to not feel the sadness from us. Trying to find answers for your situation shows how much you care. You're doing great! :)

Dear Eileen,
Thank you so much for your support and encouragement! And understanding. I have tears in my eyes -- good tears -- because it means so much to me to hear your kind words. I have been doing everything I can think of to get better; all sorts of alternative therapies and things. But I know that Lucinda's program is really the key -- so much of it lies in my attitude and my thoughts.

I applaud you as well for all you are doing for your daughter. My girls are 4 and 8. One of the hardest things, as you pointed out, is not being able to do as much as the other moms out there. My house is a mess, I rarely have playdates, etc. And then there's the guilt and feeling like a failure, which starts the negative thinking cycle, which leads to the depression and fatigue and overwhelm.

I completed the program a few months ago, but I know I need to go back through it. I am having a hard time getting motivated, so I am just going to pick a tape and listen to it as many times as I need. Then pick another, and another ... I just know that this program is so key to healing.

All that to say, thanks for understanding! I give you so much credit as well!

Keep in touch ...
Maureen

I don't take medication. I'm not completely "cured" yet but I have very few panic attacks these days and I'm learning how to be a more calm, in control person every day.

SSRI's made me feel worse. I'm thankful that they work for some. In fact my hubby takes antidepressants and they work great for him.

But not for me!

I hope you feel better soon. It's all about accepting that you will have some bad days and redirecting your negative thoughts, in my mind.

Dear Momurph,
My house has been in the same shambles for years and playdays etc. have been difficult too. And I also thought it was because I was a failure. I'm so grateful to find Lucinda's program. It explains so much. I am relieved to know that others are experiencing the same as I am, on many different issues. Thank you for sharing with me. I hope you can find an herbalist that can help you, whether it is mine or someone closer to you. I will be praying for you. You keep in touch as well.
Eileen :)
