Xanax XR

I have a question about xanax XR. I am going to start taking it and I want to know -
Is xanax XR similar to regular xanax in that it works better on an empty stomache?
any other information that you know of would also be helpful - such as
How long does it take to work and how long does it's effectiveness last for?
Is it an effective medicine?

Hello!I've been on this med for 2 years.It doesn't matter if you have an empty stomach or not.It takes about a half hour to 45 minutes to start feeling more calm.For me it was only lasting about 12 hours.After that I was getting pretty uncomfortable.I now take 1mg 3 times a day to keep it in my system.It slowly releases so you might still feel some anxiety but that's good because then you know that you have to still work on the skills to overcome the anxiety.I like the fact that this med at least for me doesn't make you feel wiped out.The side affects are few if any.I would recommend taking it if your anxiety is at a high level and you can't seem to focus on recovery because of it.Take care!

Thank you, fear not. I feel much better about taking this medicine. I have a high level of anxiety and I think that this medicine will help as I also work on my skills from Combatting Stress and Depression Program program.
