morning lightheadedness
Hi All,
Has anyone experienced lightheadedness in the morning or a feeling that your head is heavy with some pressure, but kind of lightheaded when you walk around? I feel not completely dizzy, but just kind of floaty and off-balancy. I do not take any medication.
Most of the feeling is in the back of my head. Can anyone relate?

Hello!Yes I can relate.I feel this way a lot in the morning when I get up.It's very frustrating!I cherish the days when I wake up symptom free.I had these feelings this morning. It really is a symptom of anxiety.I'm assuming that you have already been checked out by your DR.?If you haven't then do because it will bring you some piece of mind.I can just let you know that I've had anxiety problems for 13 years now.I've definately had a problem with feeling the way you've described a lot in the mornings.I think that it happens because our bodies are just waking from a calm state and then without us realizing that we're doing it we let our minds run negative and BAM the adrenaline and other chemicals that make us feel these kinds of symptoms release.Really try just floating through it.That really helps it from at least turning into panick.Don't feed it.It will pass and hopefully it may take awhile we won't have this happening anymore.Take care!
Hi FEAR NOT,
thanks SO much, i feel better already! yes, in teh past 2 1/2 months, i have been to eye, ear, regular doctor and even a neurologist! i had a Cat scan and my regular bloodwork/physical was in late March. Everyone says i am fine. The neurologist actually said i have deep rooted anxiety adn need medication, but i have only taken it a few times. i just feel weak and not my regular energy level, which is concerning adn frustrating. Does anxiety build up and make you feel this way? I want to belive the doctors adn i just hope i will not have to insist on an MRI to dissuade my fears. Originally, i went to the doctors for the falling/rising sensation, which now has mainly turned into what i descibed originally. what chemicals are you taking about to make us feel this way? also, when i am sleep deprived like today, i feel much worse.

Hello!Yes anxiety can build up and make you feel things that you can't even hardly describe!I get that weak feeling too.The chemicals that I'm talking about I believe are adrenaline, cortisol, and there are a few others. We can actually learn to control them through or thinking patterns and behavior like the program says.Believe in yourself. You are strong your thinking is what's defeating you.Same goes for me.I mean think about it we walk around for hours like this, days like this, and even sometimes like in my case years just thinking that something horrible is going to happen and all it really ends up being is wasted time in worry. We make ourselves sick!Like the program says we need to start putting up the stop sign every time we catch ourselves in that negative pattern.I'm glad your feeling better!I'm still working on it at the moment but later I'm sure I'll come out of it.I just need to refocus.Take care!!
I too have that morning lightheadedness that sometimes lasts into my days (probably because I concentrate on it so much!) I start to panic when I feel like that (I start checking my pulse, feeling my breathing) just to make sure that I am not dying! I like you have been through ENT with nothing "It's probably allergies" is what they told me. This is probably one of my worst symptoms as I let it bother me and my mother alays let it bother her. I know that it is anxiety.....Good luck!
THANK YOU BOTH. I wish i was more like you - you really seem to know and believe that it is anxiety. I wish i was so sure. I am on week 9 of the program with a coach, and where i have been making strides in other areas, i am not doing well with the body symptom part of it. I know i am pretty hypochondiacal. everyone is telling me teh same thing, i wish i could feel it in my heart! how do you do it? are either of you prone to obsessive thinking?
Hello!Yes I'm very prone to obsessive thinking. The only reason that I'm able to get through it without totally panicking is because I went to the Dr.last month and my blood work came back good.I figure those tests aren't wrong so it has to be my anxiety.I too have doubt sometimes about the symptoms but you have to just keep telling yourself that this is my anxiety acting up and I'm NOT going to let it control me!I will float with it and try my best to refocus my thoughts on things that make me feel in control and happy no matter how I'm feeling.Once we keep that positive kind of thinking going we will feel it in our hearts. One more step forward to NO MORE FEAR!!!!Take care!

Hi there
I have light headedness all the time. Especially when I have to go somewhere or when someone says something that they want me to go do with them and I dont want to. Which I dont do anything as of now except go to my boyfriends house later in the evening because I have in my head that, thats when I feel better and its not true..i guess its part of my anxiety.
I went to the ER last year and they ran 4 viles of blood on me and everything was normal..but i still dont feel normal. I always have NO enery, im always tired, im ALWAYS HUNGRY like and in my head also i think oh its been a little while since i ate i might pass out and my family tells me all the time that as long as you have food in your system YOU WONT PASS OUT
Anyways i went off the subject but its nice to know other people have the dizziness and light headedness also!

Hi LMM, Gosh it's amazing how many of us suffer from this symptom of anxiety! I can tell you this, it feels lousy, but it won't hurt you. I've had anxiety on and off now for over 30 years and my very worst symptoms are the lightheadedness, feeling off balance when I walk and thinking I'm going to pass out at any given moment. I too, have been to every specialist known to man, and they have all concluded it is anxiety. Finally, I ordered the program and I am now on week 5. I want you to know that although these symptoms are not completely gone yet, I can manage them so well. I have learned to 'float" with them, assure myself that it is anxiety and breath. I finally feel a sense of control through this. Please do the program and I know you will be able to change your negative responses to positive ones every time you feel that way. Good Luck!!

Change,
thanks for your response. Yes, i know, i am struck by all your similiar responses. it does make me feel better and less alone. i am currently on week 9, and i will continue with this program. Of all the topics they cover, my weakness is my physical symptom anxiety, so my coach says that whatever the hardest thing is for me, will be the last to go away - like when you are trying to lose weight!
Fear Not, your responses are so good and appreciated,as well as everyone elses.
Right now, i have gotten in teh habit of worrying about this stuff before i even put my feet on the ground in the morning, so i know i somehow have to break that "thought habit". Any suggestions?
