I have several different simple pleasures, depending on the season and what's going on. One is to spend some time in church when it's otherwise empty. Some quiet time with God in His house is very nice. I also enjoy taking my dog for a walk and saying hi to the neighbors. Or, just sitting outside enjoying the fresh air and sunshine. :)

Forgot one. I work at a nursing home/rehab center. Finding a way to get a resident to smile is a genuine simple pleasure. Usually just holding their hand, saying hello or giving them a smile does the trick.

My simple pleasure is visiting my Mom in her special care home. Sometimes I stay for lunch and eat with her and two other residents. In the summer, I go out in the afternoon and we all sit outdoors on the patio or walk around the gardens there. It is beautiful and these visits make my day. My Mom is awesome! :)

A hug or smile, talks with my family, a hot bubble bath, a phone call (no telemarketers), doing something nice for someone else.

My simple pleasure is our SHIH POO puppy Ginger, who's 8 mths old. Yesterday, we took her to this big park nearby. On this one open field, my hubby stayed w/ her in 1 spot - while I walked clear across the other end. I sat dwn on the grass. My nickname for her is MAMA. So, I cld her, "where's the mama?" She came running real fast. I swear dogs laugh. she jumped on me & we fell in the grass. I was laughing. Ginger was running all over me, rolling in the grass too & kissing my face. She was so excited. @ 1 point, as my hubby was making his way back to us, Ginger & I were laying in the grass - on our backs playing & rolling kind of. It couldn't have gotten better than that very moment - to boot, it was warm & sunny here in NJ as well.

I have another SIMPLE PLEASURE, lol. Just me having THAT moment, & enjoying THAT moment. Knowing I "need" those moments + "can" have them + "stop", no matter what's going on in my life - just to PLAY. It's all good. :D ;)

LOL - SILLY IN N.J., LENORE
Your greatest challenge isn't someone else. It's the aching i your lungs & the burning in your legs & the voice inside you that yells "CAN'T". But you don't listen. You push harder & hear the voice that whispers "CAN". An you realize that the person you thought you were is no match for the one you REALLY ARE.

Today's simple pleasure: I took my first yoga class today. Really enjoyed it. But it was so odd that at the end I almost started to cry! It brought out such emotion in me. I even did a Google search tonight and I found a few web posts of people reporting the same thing. So unexpected. When I got back from the class I mentioned it to a young co-worker and she said that I just needed a hug, so she gave me one. "Give a hug, Get a hug" is what she said. So sweet. I've never heard that saying. Made me feel good.

Today's simple pleasure: As I came home from work I saw three bunnies in my front yard. They looked like lawn ornaments since they were so perfectly spaced in a semi circle in front of the big oak tree. So cute.

Oh, and I had a facial tonight and the facialist asked my age and looked genuinely surprised when I told her and she said she thought I was much younger. Yes!! I'll take it, even if they say that to everyone. LOL!

PS: I'm just going to use this thread to post my simple pleasures each day (hopefully). It will get me in touch with the little positive things in my day. Hopefully others will post too. :)

Walking by the beach with my four year old riding her bike, while my 11 year is across the way having soccer practice. I love to see my kids smile.
