Does anyone get a flutter feeling in their chest and then feel light headed for a few seconds and the comes and goes? I get all the usual anxiety symptoms and heart things and have had a bunch of test and Ekg's and heart monitor done and their good. But this thing is weird feeling and starting to scare me. My doctor feels it's anxiety related, but I feel like I'm starting to not think that. Any suggestions?

It is anxiety related and will not hurt you.

Hi Lynne.

I also have the same feelings. I have had tests done as well and nothing is wrong. My docotr has said that it is stress/anxiety. My sensation feels like my heart is doing summer saults or flips and it feels like someone is pumping the air out of my chest for a split second. It is pretty weird and scary. My doc said to saty off of caffeine becasue this makes them worse., I had an "event recorder" (heart monitor) and it only said that my heart sometimes combines two beats into one. My doctor said this was a normal (nothing to worry about) kind of thing. I get them even if I dont think I am stressed or anxious.

Thank you for the response back!!!! I stayed home all day (which I do a lot when I get any anxiety related symptom and that still dosen't help to do that) getting more worried about it and because it has been going on for some time now, I was really getting scared. As you said raggmop said it feels like your heart is doing summer saults(also like when you do a summersault underwater and you get that flutter feeling) Thank you, it is so frustrating to feel this way and sometimes you don't know what to think your body is doing!!!
THANKS

I've had the same feelings and same tests. Anxiety! It will pass especially if you get your mind focused on something else and also breathing deep helps.

I have the same problem. My doc did an ekg and put me on a holter monitor for 24 hours. All the tests came back fine. Just anxiety!!! Go have the tests done if you want to put your mind at ease. Also the doc said to give up caffeine because it makes it worse!!! Hope this helped :)

Yup, they are palpitations, had them tested all was fine. I dont worry about them, the more you worry the more they happen. Stay away from caffiene, chocolate, any stimulants. They can also get worse with hormones, around your period and PMS times.

Take a deep breath and dont worry, they are NOTHING!

I get these two, but th emore I think about them the more I get them. I will catch myself some days not thinking about them and I don't even remember the last time I had one. I have had all the tests too and it was nothing. I know they are scary and you think you are having a heart crisis or something, but you are not. I agree with some of the other posts, get the tests done to put your mind at ease.
