Hi Mary! What you do makes tons of sense. I hardly have anything here in the house to fight off this cold (or a flu). And with this rain and cold weather I don't want to go get some. I am definitely going to stock up when I feel better. And, yes, thanks Dodger, re the toothbrush tip! Rob.

I've had a cold for about 4 days now, and it's been terrible! I'm terribly congested, and it seems my nose will never clear. I felt a lot better yesterday, then today, I tried to clean a bit and now I feel bad again. My own fault, I know.

I get terribly anxious when I'm sick, but what's funny is the first couple of days, I wasn't a bit anxious. I think I was just too sick to care. lol

Take care!

Hi Annie, I know I sometimes try and do too much too soon but this time I'm just going to take it easy (or as easy as I can) until I really get over this bug. Thanks, Annie, for your response. Rob.

Hi Rob, Believe me I know how difficult it is to stay in those positive thoughts especially when you're not feeling well and those anxious feelings just won't subside. BUT, I can offer some ways I've been successful lately. I always worry about what I've done wrong in the past and the future can absolutely send me into a full blown panic attack at any moment. I am great at imagining the worst possible scenarios about the future. So, I am constantly practicing staying "in the moment". Every time the terror thoughts about something bad happening in my life (which are totally unrealistic), I focus strongly on the moment I am in. I look at the good things happening right at that moment. I tell myself this is really all any of us have is this present moment. No one has it any easier than anyone else. I'm great at thinking other people have perfect lives and no troubles. Logically I may know it's not true, but my thoughts and feelings allow me to imagine this. I think I'm finally detaching myself from always thinking my life is so much harder and painful than anyone else's. I switch right away to what's going on in this moment because that is all I or anyone really has any control over. It really has been helping me to see things much more peacefully and it's helping me not to fret so much over what I can't control. I always think if I can't control something then it's going to be horrendous and what will I do about it. Well, the truth is most things that happen are not that horrendous and I do believe if we can trust ourselves and live our lives with the concept of love and NOT fear good things will always chase us down. I hope this will help you. Talk to you soon.

Hi Donna, I really understand what you are saying. I am currently listening to the audio book of Ekhart Tolle, "The Power of Now", in which he describes being "in the moment". It's a tough book to listen to and to understand, but I'm hoping to get a lot from it, and to live "in the moment". Thanks so much. Rob.
