i want to just relax. i want to just sit back and be able to just watch T.V. without feeling that i am not doing enough in life. it feels as if though i'm not doing enough for myself and others. i get anxious at those moments. it feels as though sometimes i have failed in various areas of my life. i feel as if though i could be alot more than what i have become. could someone give me some pointers on this relaxing issue? thanx. and hope the best for everyone dealing with panic, anxiety, and depression. i would love to just scream and let the whole world hear me, and KNOW that it was me who screamed in such a way.

Hi Enrique,
Have you ordered the program? If so have you been trying the relaxation cd? That cd has really helped me.
Work on the breathing and let your mind clear.
Something else I do that helps me is read. Find a good book and when you feel anxious read for a half hour or hour - I can't worry and read at the same time like I can when I watch tv.

Hi Enrique
I understand completely. I used to be consumed by thoughts like that and the guilt and shame that accompanies it. I really don't have it so much any more. I had really high expectations and was really hard on myself. I just got the program and as usual I'm doing it my way the first time around. ;) I'm going to the areas where I have the greatest problems. Today I listened to expectations and scary thoughts. It was very illuminating and helpful. For me it helped to look at my world and the areas where I have made a difference. My dog and cat have good lives. I am able to work and support myself, which before was not the case. So I see I've made progress but I will achieve even more with this program. It's okay to relax and do nothing...in fact it's important. Just take care of yourself and don't beat yourself up! And practice the program! I'm so glad I got it, the scary thought cd was worth the entire price alone!
ATTITUDE -- The mind is like a parachute...it doesn't work unless it's open!!

Hi there PattyD,
I was happy to read your post. We're both in the same boat as far as being hard on ourselves, feeling like maybe we're not doing enough, and just stressing ourselves out with our own thoughts! I too skipped ahead and listned to the scary thoughts CD and it really helped me, since this is the area where I need the most work.
Thanks for saying that it's ok to not do anything sometimes, and that its important! I have a hard time letting myself do that when I get a chance. Yet at the same time I say to myself " I just need a day to sit around and do nothing!" Well it made me feel better to hear someone else validate those thoughts I had, so thanks!

Good luck in the program!
