I've noticed since starting the program, I am coming up with new anxiety symptoms. I actually was nervous about going into town by myself to run errands today. That one is new for me. Maybe I'm an anxiety hypochondriac? Now, I worry about coming up with new problems that I hear on the cd's and read online.

I need to up the positive self talk, huh? Anyone else have this problem?

Hi,

Good for you working the program! I will say from my own experience that my anxiety took on a geometric progression. The more I worried about the symptoms and feelings I had I started attaching it to simple things such as going to the grocery store, etc. As soon as I started feeling the symptoms I began the self-doubt and before I knew it had talked myself out of doing things I enjoyed doing. I had to realize that the same level of thinking negatively was creating my avoidance problems. It has taken some retraining on my part to get out there and expose myself to the feared events and see that nothing bad was going to happen to me. Simultaneously, I've done thought replacement to change around some nasty "what-if" thinking I had to "so what if?" I know it is tough to listen to other people's problems and then worry about having them yourself. But that is just the anxiety speaking. Don't give it too much care or notice and keep chugging away at the program. it will be worth it!

i completely understand. the other day i was sat the store and thought about some post somebody wrote about how they are afraid to throw up etc and i started worrying about that and thought i was just going to uncontrollably throw up. i never did throw up and i know that it is my anxious head doing that. but i do the same thing and youre not alone
