weird symptoms around my monthly cycle
i dont know of this has to do with my period or not. i should start on sunday. i am feeling the typical symptoms. my ovaries hurt. like this dull pain. also i am very very tired. does your period make you extremely exhausted?? sometimes im s tired i feel as if i was drugged. But sometimes before i fall asleep (even though i am so tired) i start having these weird half asleep half awake dreams and ill wake up from it in panic and i feel like i cant feel my heartbeat and i feel like im going crazy in my head. does anyone ever feel all crazy and totally out of it right before you fall asleep? thats how iv been feeling. it also feels like there is a band over my head but its not a headache at all. just a weird tightening. im totally freaking out and in alot of panic right now at 1 in the morning. it has to be because my period is coming, right? or am i going crazy. i'll sometimes feel in the middle of the night like i am dying. its because i cant feel my heartbeat and my anxiety must go way up too because its like i feel like i am halucinigating.does anybody feel like that when they are really tired and still up and/or wake up at night?? its freaking me out. i just want to start my period so it will end!! any advice or does anybody understand
"Come to me, all who are tired from carrying heavy loads, and I will give you rest. (Matthew 11:28)"
Holly,
I do get a tightening around my head before my cycle, almost like it's i a vise. I get weak and tired too and crave steak or spaghetti.
I have had dreams when I was half awake but knew I was dreaming. It's very panicy to be stuck there and not be able to wake fully. My heart rate would go up and I'd get the sweats. I don't think they were around my cycle, and I just stopped having them. Good luck to you! Bev

Just to plug Women to Women, their office is here in Maine, and I see a nurse practitioner there a few times a year to work on my anxiety, etc. with herbal supplements. Just one more tool. They work with people all over the country, you can have phone "appointments" with the practitioners.
Even if you just read the website, it is an amazing place and it really validates our various aches, pains, and worries as women.
Hugs, Tara

Holly women to women is great, go to the site and take the test to see if you have a hormonal imbalance. I just did it a few weeks ago, and it was helpful! I would love to find a place like that near me, I am all the way in Arizona.....very far from Maine. It is nice that they work with people all over the country. I just wish I could walk in and see them personally! Knowledge on this is what helps the anxiety/panic to have no power!
I would also reccomend this book, it's called Once a Month By Katherine Dalton, M.D.

Hello
I order the women to women Vitamins that they sell and really like them. Very convenient and they cover all the bases. 2 registered dieticians that I have showed them to think they are great.
I don't do the program with them, but I do use bio-identical progesterone (from a local compounding pharmacy) and it is AWESOME! It has helped my anxiety alot and evens out the hormonal changes a bit. I am not interested in taking BCpills as many ob's suggest and this really works for me.
My husband will vouch for this as well, and he often can see my hormonal changes before I can.

Those sound like totally normal symptoms to me. Hormonal fluctuations can be a total bxxxx, and sometimes I have this fear I may have PMDD
...but then my period starts and I take Midol like they're candy (:p) and I'm fine...until next month.
As women it's just something we have to deal with, but the one thing I always remember is that in the end I really don't care about my period because the one thing I have to look forward to is the blessing of being able to have children (when I'm ready).
