Holly,
I have been on Zoloft for panic and anxiety for going on 6 months now. It took about 2 months for me to start feeling better but I have not had a panic attack since. I had to quit work and would barely leave my house. There for a while I wouldnt leave at all. Now I have went back to work full time and the first week of June I will be going to the beach. Zoloft is the first antidepressant I have tried so I dont know how the others would effect me. Don't get me wrong I still have every day anxiety but I can handle it and it doesnt scare me like it use too. I feel so much better like I have got my life back. If you have any questions please email me and I will help you in the best way that I can. I know just how scary it is to start on these medicines. The program helped me alot also. If it wasnt for it and the medicine I don't know where I would be. I am on the lowest dose of Zoloft but it seems to be working for me. I hope you get to feeling better. If you need anything just let me know. Jen

I used zoloft for a little over 3 years, and I think it does help. But I warn you, this is a pain to get off of. Its side effects are pretty bad, and it seems like as more tests are being done they are finding it isnt as great as everyone thought.

I dont want to be totally negative about it, because I think it did work. I stopped having anxiety and panic after about two months. But I really wonder if it would have happened without the drug.

Anyway, it is pretty mild for a drug. You may put on weight after you are on it for a while. Getting off it is a pain, but not totally unbearable. I gradually went off it. The worst I went through was getting dizzy, and getting head zaps. Plus my anxiety came back. but I also stopped drinking at the same time, so I was going through that too.

I've been on zoloft for two months and for the first time in eight years worth of medicine it seems to be working. Because of my anxiety I take it before I go to bed so my mind wont play with me (atleast for to long). I've been on it before years ago and never had trouble coming off of it. Good luck

I have been on Zoloft for one month which is the time i started this program. I am trying to give up wine and having a hard time due to the cravings. I know i need to give up alcohol taking these meds and with the anxiety and depression. Any suggestions?

I took Zoloft for about a year for panic attacks. It took awhile to kick in. At first I felt like it was not working, but after a couple of months I began to feel like me again. My experience with it has been a positive one....

Holly, I have been on Zoloft for a year now - it has taken me a rather long period of time to adjust to them. Six months ago my 18 yr old beautiful grandson was killed in an auto accident, which didn't help my panic or deprssion. I am finally getting back to where I was when I started the prescription. I did go on the brand name rather than the generic and that has helped me immensely. Don't be afraid to try them, just keep in good touch with your doctor as to how you feel. It does take time, no anxiety med is a quick fix...and do the program...it will help you stay positive and you will be able to relate with so many issues you probably now have. Good luck and God Bless!
