Hi everyone,
Today has been really miserable as far as my head-space. The thoughts have been coming at me like a wave of negative chatter. I have not even been able to replace some of the thoughts cause they have been coming at me non-stop.
Has anyone here experienced withdrawl from using anti-anxiety medication (clonazepam)?? There are web-sites on withdrawl from benzodiazepines that suggest the "protracted withdrawl" symptoms can include constant negative thoughts as well as many others.
I just want to know if anyone else has successfully gone through this craziness....
Thanks for reading
Martin
Please advise... CONSTANT negative thoughts....
I have been taking clonazepam for awhile ... small doses .5 twice a day... I tried cutting back to 1/2 pill once a day and it did not work well. Stress tight on back of neck and sholders... Went back to .5 twice a day... have been gradually backing off.. its a tough thing to back off of !!! Tough Tought >... Goood Luck... I'm taking Lamictal and another Anti-Depress ..... Cymbalda too.on withdrawl from benzodiazepines
I came off Klonopin cold turkey last June along with about three other meds. I was taking 3 a day. I think it was .5 mg. There was also a very stressful event at that time. All of that caused my first severe anxiety, apathy, heart racing, uncontrollable negative thoughts and panic, social withdrawal, loss of self worth and was the start of a bad nicotine addiction. Not meant to sound scary- I doubt anyone would go through all those things at once or go cold turkey off all the meds. Once that gets out of your system, there's a world of difference and a slow withdrawal is going to help out tremendously. I think you'll do fine- there is light at the end of the tunnel!
Hi,
I want to warn anyone reading this that Klonopin or Clonazepam is a tranquilizer it is addictive and is meant to be gotten off of slowly and with your doctors help! Please don't just 'quit' a med or not tell you doctor because the withdrawl can lead to seizures and death from toxima in the blood. You need your doctors help with any medication. Be safe and good to yourself.

Hello! This subject is one of my biggest fears!I am taking 1mg of Xanax ER three times a day!I've been taking this med for two years. My body is very sensitive to changes.I'm not ready to wean off yet but I'm terrified for that day to come!I'm worried that I'll never be able to stop taking the med because I'm to afraid of what might happen if I do.I take my pill every eight hours. When it's getting close to that time I start having anxiety and think that if I don't hurry and take that pill I'll die.I hate it!I know that that it's not because the med is waring off because they're supposed to last for twelve hours and like I said I'm taking one every eight.Do you guys think that I'll be ok as long as I wean off slowly?Thank you for any advice!
