Zoloft? Does it work?
I am taking 50 mg of zoloft with .75 mg of Klonopin and it has worked wonders for me. Starting the Zoloft was not good, but you have to let it work. People want immediate effects and don't want to ride out the initial bad side effects that do come with most SSRI but my advice to you is just to be patient. It took me about 3 months to really start seeing the difference, but my Dr. also recommended klonopin to help me bring my anxiety down and then eventually stay only on the zoloft for a year. We will see how it goes, but I am not driving everywhere, socialzing, and I even had the courage to meet in person Senator Mc Cain. So it does work?
LBM,
do you take the klonopin daily or as needed? just curious because i am now up to 100mg Zoloft and my head is whizzing, so the doctor prescribed klonopin (i don't know what dosage -- they just called it into the pharmacy an hour ago) on an as needed basis.
the doctor also plans on increasing my zoloft. i'm a little scared. but i just received a call from Stress and they responded to my question about a replacement dvd. they are replacing it and they spent an hour convincing me to go back an finish the program. i think i will because i don't want to be on zoloft for the rest of my life.
good luck to all.

Started Zoloft last September and is the BEST thing I have ever done for myself, along with starting this program.
In the beginning I needed lorazepam every morning as I would wake up with a panic attack every day due to extreme stress. I really did not think I could continue working and thought I would have to go home to my parents house to live for the rest of my life.
I did have side effects in the beginning and any time I changed the dose, but all side effects went away. I feel good for the first time in years - not sluggish, tired, zombielike - like a "normal" person!
Long story short it did take some time to get the dose right through close contact with my Dr. and pharmacist - don't think one trip to the doctor is enough for a year or two - go back until you are getting the results you need!
You deserve it, you really can change your life!

I have been on Zoloft for approx 6 weeks. I started with(.25mg) then to (.50mg) and now (.75mg) I will feel good prior to taking my dose in the morning and 45 minutes to 1 hour later, I begin shaking inside my body until later afternoon or early evening. Has anyone else responded with the same side efects?
I never had that. It doesn't sound very good. I think you should tell your doctor.
Most medications have a trade-off and you have to decide if the benefits outweigh the bad effects, but don't take it if it jeopardizes your health.
There are many other medications you can try that may or may not be better for you.
I once had the top authority in the mid-west as my doctor and he said that finding the right medication is like shooting darts at a dartboard, i.e., that you don't know ahead of time which one is going to work.
