Hi Folks,

I just started taking Paxil 5 days ago. I take it at night about an hour before bed. Since I started it, I have been having trouble sleeping and waking with trembling feelings.

The slip I got from the pharmacy says to tell your doc promptly if stuff like this happens. But, it also says that Paxil can make you wakeful or sleepy, so your doc may direct you to take it at a certain time of day.

Anyone else have this with Paxil? If so, sis you switch to taking it in the morning? Thanks.

I remember the first week or two I started paxil I could not stay awake. It took everything I had to stay awake at work and for two straight weeks I came right home and went to bed...slept all night to. My husband did not know what to think. But, after about the 3rd or 4th week, it got much better. I take mine in the morning on my way to work.

I started with regular paxil for a month and I would wake up with the trembling and shaking and then it would go into a panic attack. Paxil is kinda hard to take when you first start it. I started Paxil CR after the first month on regular paxil. I have taken Paxil CR for about 7 weeks and it has gotten alot better. I think it takes awhile for it to start working. Maybe you need CR or a higher dose if this does not go away after about three weeks. I also take mine about an hour before bed. Good luck and hang in there, it gets better.
