The Lamictal is just not working for me. I can't take the side effects. I asked the doctor to switch me to Geodon after doind some research online. Can anyone share their experiences with this- good or bad- I'm up for it all. Thanks a bunch.

Hey Bev,
I have never taken this but I am a nurse and I looked it up in my drug book. The side effects of this drug are a lot worse then the lamictal. You may not experience them though. I didn't know if your doc had told you this or not so I wanted to let you know. I hope you feel better soon.

Oh wow. Thanks for the heads up! I definitely don't want to go there.

The anti-psychotic route is definitely not the way to go. I was on Seroquel for anxiety for one week and after I read about tardive dyskinesis as one of the side effects it fed right into my fear of taking medications.

I take Seroquel and it has helped. What is the side effect tardive dyskinesis that you mention?

As always...Everyone needs to talk with their doctor and pharmacist regarding medications. None of us wants to be responsible for mis-information nor a plug for something that may or may not fit the condition being treated.

Thanks- Carolyn

Sorry, Carolyn. I do always talk to my doctor, but like to hear from actual users too. I probably over do it. I read phamplets, websites, etc, too.
