Christian theologians have said "Deny the Trinity and you will lose your soul; try to explain it and you will lose your mind" LOL!!! Wow, that one is a doozy to explain. I've heard, and read it explained one way or another. Here's what it means to me. Some read, some my own ;

If God is God then how can He be the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost? The Holy Trinity is a key foundation to Christianity, although, this is definitely one of the most confusing concepts of Christianity. I am going to do my best to explain this concept.

I'm going to begin with an analogy to explain how all three are just one God. Take the chemical compound H2O or water. Below 32 degrees Fahrenheit it is frozen solid. Above 212 degrees Fahrenheit it enters a gas state becoming water vapor. Everywhere in between 32 and 212 degrees it is in the liquid form of water.

No matter what state it is in, the chemical compound is still H2O. All three have specific and extremely beneficial purposes but still the same. God is exactly the same. The Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost are all still God.

Each form of God has a very specific purpose in building our relationship and all three are paramount in acquiring spiritual maturity. God the Father is who we pray to and who created the universe and everything in it. His role in our life is just like our earthly father’s. He sets the ground rules for how we are to live our lives.

Then there is God the Son or more commonly known as Jesus. Jesus is the Son of God who came to this earth to show us how to live. He lived a sinless life and was willing to die a terrible death because it was the will of God the Father. However, even being the Son of God, He still was a servant. There is a story in the Bible about how Jesus washed the feet of His disciples. Jesus wants us to serve others and love them as He did.

Finally, there is the Holy Ghost or Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit serves as a guiding light that illuminates the path we are supposed to walk to get closer to God. You are baptized with the Holy Spirit and it becomes your spiritual conscious. Being filled with the spirit of God motivates you to want to read the Bible, pray and walk in the way of the Lord. It is a lot like a muscle that needs developed within us. The more we exercise or grow in faith the more we become filled with the spirit.

To tie it all together…You are baptized into the Spirit of God and that Holy Spirit motivates and guides your actions and thoughts much like a conscious. The Holy Spirit guides your walk in Christian maturity. You are to follow the footsteps of Jesus and the Spirit drives you to do that. Then finally, God the Father has created us, set the ground rules and is whom we build our relationship with.

It is not three Gods in one God - it is one God in three Persons.

Hope this helps people out. Have a great day everyone. Keep the faith....Jim :)

Awesome David. I studied the Trinity extensively, as it is very confusing. I'm a curious person, and I'm never satisfied with not knowing something. So, I study it with all my heart. I wish everyone would study apologetics too. It's very beneficial. HAve a good one, Jim

VERY WELL PUT! I was told once that if you have a mother that is a doctor then you still have your mother that you can call Dr. she is still the same person but works in different ways. The way you put this though actually made me get it completly. I understood it when put as the mother also but that is only two of the three and I guess I could justify two but not all three. My sister and I had this same discussion awhile back and praying in the name of Jesus but if the Son and father where the same then why is that. But I have to say the way that you put it made me realize how to explain it better! Thanks a million! God bless you@!

Hi Jim:
I've been reading your posts. I'm really enjoying all of them that are on this order.
They help me in quite a few ways. They help me to understand things better but they also encourage me. I haven't been attending church
because I've had a kind of social anxiety. Just kind of dread going for some reason.
But when I read these posts they make me want to go. To get in a bible study and learn more.
I used to go to bible studies and Sunday school
years back.
So I hope you will keep writing and posting.
I look forward to reading more.
Thank you.

Cornflower; I recognize what you are saying, I have been there too. I wasn't going to church for years, after the kids got old enough to take themselves, I started staying home with my husband, and the anxiety made that eaiser and eaiser to do, but this year, I felt I needed to attend, I felt God wanted me to. The only church near here is a Baptist, and I don't agree with them much. so I argued with God, I did not want to go, I did not want to leave my husband home to feed alone, and he wasn't about to attend a church. but one day I was arguing, and I said "but God I don't see you there, I don't feel you there, I don't think you go there." his spirit said to me, I need you to take Me with you. Then I realized I was going to church for the wrong reasons, I was going there hopeing to find God there, but he needs each of us to bring Him with us, to make a real church. Church is not bricks and glass, my grand father meet God in the middle of his wheat filed. God does not live in a building but in us, we are his hands, his feet, his mouth, The Bible says God lives in the praise of his people. I went for 2 months, and then I felt I was released to be with my husband again, the next time I feel called to go to that Church I won't be arguing again. I will just go, for my efforts were rewarded, by God in a wonderful way. Lately one thing after another, has kept me home, but not without God, now I don't feel the draw like I did. like as to Nineveh, I was running the wrong way for too long, as soon as I turned and went God's way, the journey got easier. Bible studies, are every wear any more. even here, but there is nothing as good as a real hug from someone God has sent to encourage you. Like Jim2 is doing. in God's timing, you will get to a comfortable place, again. God is patient, and long suffering.

Thanks Cornflower. I just like to tell others what I believe to be the truth. I am a person that speaks his mind, and won't give in to anothers belief in the name of tolerance. I read my Bible, and like to study apologetics as well. You know, when people say, "let's go to church", it should more properly be, " let's go to the place of worship the church meets in". The church isn't the building, the church is the people.
I had social anxiety most of my life. It started at age 12, when I first started smoking weed. It made me paranoid around people. I'm 44 now, and am living life to the fullest. I have a new, awesome Christian wife, that has helped me tremendously.
Cornflower, you CAN do this! You can't let fear rule your life anymore. You are missing out on things in life you don't even know about because fear is ruling your life. Fear is a measly 4 letter word. REFUSE TO LET IT CONTROL YOU!
cfe, a woman I work with said she doesn't go to church because of the hypocrites there. She said she didn't like them because they were "weekend" christians. She didn't like that they professed God, and then did sinful things. But I asked her, "why would you care about what others do? If you go to church with spiritual intent to God, then where could He fault you?" I told her I didn't go to church because I'm perfect, but because I'm not even close to perfect. I go to church because I am a sinner, not because I'm sinless. I need God in my life, that's why I go.
Will talk more later....Have a great day everyone, Jim :)
