Cout1977,

I have had tingling in my legs and back and frequent bathroom trips. All signs of a partial panic attack. A lot of my tingling is in my mouth and my hands tremble (not all the time). Have you been using the relaxation tape? If I feel and anxiety attack coming on or feel uneasy, I usually focus on something else and it helps. Also, the breathing techniques help. I believe when your respirations are high, one tends to have more tingling and I think it is because there is more CO2 in your bloodstream. Not to mention all the adrenaline and cortisol being released into your system. Using the breathing techniques does help a lot since it slows your breathing down. Hope this helps a little. Hang in there!! ;) Anxiety Dominated

Hello,

I have had both of those symptoms, When you are having the attacks your body thinks that it is in the "fight or flight" mode and what is does this, it sends the blood to the most improtant organs ie, heart, lungs, brain, that is what causes the tingling,it also used to leave my hands & feet freezing all the time. I was diagnosed with GAD so I had the the tingling all the time in my hands. I was always in a constant state of anxiety.

And as far as you going to the bathroom alot, had that too. When my anxiety first started I would go 20 times a day, I thought I had a UTI, after my doctor had rueled out anything medical, he did say that is another symptom of anxiety. I found that most of the time I would go into the bathroom was just to escape, because I was having a panic attack. My husband till this day always jokes with me anytime we go out to eat because that is the first thing I did when we got to the resturant, was go to the bathroom, I would always sit on the end if we were with another couple, because I would go a couple of time during dinner.

I know this is hard to except but it is the fear of the symptoms, fear of the attacks, the fear is what keeps fueling your anxiety, if you were no longer afriad of the symptoms they would go away. Now having said that I KNOW how scary the symptoms can be, and it took me many many years to except that it was just anxiety. I went to many doctors who told me it was anxiety and did not beleave them, I thought that no way could anxiety cause all these physical symptoms, but going through the program has tought me how to handel my anxiety. It has been a life saver.

I hope this has helped you, at least you know you are not alone. Take care

Debbie

Tingling is one om symptoms too. I also get "jelly legs" where my knees feel suddenly 1/2 as strong as they normally are.

If you have the program, listen to the techniques for panic attacks. Like everyone has already said, they work (especially the breathing technique).

Another thing too... If you are having regular attacks, I would recommend seeing your doc (if you have not already). In my case, my attacks landed me in the ER 3 times in three weeks. The last ER visit, I finally talked to the ER doc about panic attacks and he gave me a script for xanax. My family doc agreed with this and also scripted me some paxil. I wanted to get over this without meds, but they have helped me "even out" and focus on going to work, etc., while I work the program.

Good luck and God bless. You are not alone.
