what are hypoglycemia symptoms?
Hey everyone!I'm kinda anxious right now because I just read something in an article that said "People with anxiety and depression have serious hypoglycemia."My Dr.said that I don't have that but when I read this it of course sent instant worry. The only thing that I've noticed that will happen to me is that sometimes I'll get really hungry.I eat 3 meals a day though.I don't know I had this severe hunger thing 2 years ago and put on 20 pounds!I'm proud to say though that I've lost about 15 of those extra pounds. My Dr. said that the hunger was just a phase of my anxiety.Has anyone else ever had these symptoms with your anxiety?I had 2 sets of thorough blood tests ran but that was when my anxiety got so bad about 2 years ago.The tests came back normal.Any answers would help so much.Thank-you!!
Hi there fear not,
I have been up and down in my weight for years.
I am not sure why? I think I have chose to eat out too much at times. I may eat more when a little depressed or so. I do know, people who have anxiety are prone to depression and which that could cause us to eat more and gain weight.
Of course I am not a doctor. But hopefully i could have been of some help.
Its great that you lost weight!!
I lost 45 pounds through exercise and learning to eat better ( smaller portions) about a year ago.
Take care!!

I don't know why the article you read said that, because stress and adrenaline actually increase blood sugar (to provide a source of energy to muscles needing to fight or flight). Symptoms of hypoglycemia can overlap with those of anxiety: dizziness, shakiness, trembling, hunger, weakness, headaches. If these symptoms are relieved by eating, it was probably hypoglycemia...but nothing to worry about! I get extremely hypoglycemic in the mornings, so I always have breakfast, a morning snack, and an early lunch, and keep snacks on hand. It is no big deal.
Are you supposed to take a med for hypoglycemia? I too am very much this way and do feel better after I eat. Today I had grocery shopping to do yet after other errands. I couldn't wait to get home to eat, I was starving already so I went to Taco bell and got a bean burito to hold me over. Yea, I guess sleepless you are right...No Big deal. You gotta learn to listen to your body. You're called sleeplessmom and I should be called sleepyhead. Seems all I want to do lately is sleep.
