Good mornin G-Papa John,
You hit the nail on the head my friend. I fig if it is meant to be I will go to Meryl Fest. Have you ever listened to Doc and Meryl Watson? Good "ole" time banjo-fiddle and guitar pickin'. It's a real love of mine. They do alot of the old time gospel music too.
My son was taking 'fiddle' lessons for almost a yr until recently-he just got interested in something else and that is one battle I choose not to fight. If he doesn't want to play fiddle right now maybe later.
As you said we have to turn our lives over to God as we know HIM to get better. I did that going on 18 yrs. ago-I got really drunk and checked in to a hospital for people like me-rehab. The physical I got showed I was almost having a stroke-the BP and electrocardiogram-was almost out the roof-but God had diff plans for me and I survived my last drunk. AMEN!A couple of times in the last 18 yrs. I have re-dedicated my life to HIM too.
I'm so happy for you-you have made that 1st critical step and you are working the program. the 1st yr. is so interesting after you turn your life over. Expect Miracles! I can tell you for sure God keeps HIS Promises too.
there is a book I love-I have passed it on to a dear friend who admitted his problem just before Thanksgiving last yr. but it called "Serenity-the 12 steps and scriptures that corrolate" It's published by Nelson Pub-the big Bible publishers-they have a site online now where you can order the book. It has the entire books of Proverbs and Psalms-and alot of the New Testament and how the scripture relates to recovery. Mine was very used and I hope it is helping my friend here. If I can ever be any help to you send me a message-or email-djd561@verizon.net. There are a couple of members here who are dealing with husbands who are trying to quit drinking-you know prob by experience that when we help others we help ourselves too.
It will be interesting to see if I end up "in the wind". I do miss riding-but my H was the love of my life and nobody except maybe a couple of our friends can ride like he did. He had good "english".
Easy Does It,
Always,
Deb ^J^

"Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give You the desires of your heart."
-Psalm 32:5
AMEN!
A good thing about having Fibromyalgia is...
it's made "bed head" fashionable!

Lord, I pray for my spouse, from head to toe:

His Head --That he will look to You as Lord of his life. (1 Corinthians 11:13)
His Mind - That he will have the mind of Christ and think as the Holy Spirit would lead him and not the flesh. (1 Corinthians 2:16)
His Eyes --That You will keep his eyes from temptation and that he will turn
his eyes from sin. (Matthew 6:13, Mark 9:47)

His Ears - That he will hear Your still small voice instructing him. (1 Kings 19:12, Psalm 32:8)
His Mouth -- That his words will be pleasing to You. (Proverbs 19:14)
His Neck --That he will humble himself before You and be strong, courageous, and careful to do everything written in Your Word so that he will be prosperous and successful. (James 4:10, Joshua 1:8-9)
His Heart-That he will love and trust You with his whole heart. (Deuteronomy 6;5, Proverbs 3:5)
His Arms-That You will be his strength. (Psalm 73:26)
His Hands-That he will enjoy the work of his hands and see it as a gift from You. (Ecclesiastes 3:13, 5:19)
His feet -- That You will order his steps and that he will walk in Your truth. (Proverbs 4:25, Psalm 26:3)

Ok it appears that admin is directing all Christians to come here for group prayer if desired and cancelling out our Wednesday night prayer group and no we can not use the help forum on Wednesday nights. From my understanding this prayer group that meets sunday evenings does not give Glory to GOD or Jesus is this correct ????? When I have observed before I never saw acknowledgement to God or Jesus.....please inform me if I have been mistaken....

The Sunday night prayer group meets in the help area of chat each Sunday at 7 EST.

It is a non-denominational, non-preaching prayer session open to those of all faiths, religions, creeds and backgrounds.

Yes, there are indeed references to God, but only to God so that our friends of all faiths, including the Jewish faith, feel welcome.

It is a very peaceful, comforting group and I invite everyone to join us. Thank you.

God bless,
CC
