After reading these posts I went to the store and bought some slice and bake chocolate chip cookies! Oh well, I'll bake two of them and hide the rest. Ya right! I don't have hypoglycemia or diabetes but I know how much better I feel when I keep the blood sugar levels more even throughout the day. I don't get as nervous about things in general.

Celeron, I don't think you're odd because your body doesn't overreact to sugar and/or caffeine. We are all wired differently and you're fortunate that it's one less thing you have to try to adhere to.

I'm jealous!

That made me wonder. In the tapes they tell you to lay of caffeine and sugar and about how it reduces anxiety etc, but it never did have much if any noticeable effect on me. I have seem me drinking maybe 2 large mountain dews and several cups of coffee in a day and other days having none and feeling no different

When I found out I had (very early stages) diabetes, I cut out the sugar and felt great after about 2 months. Even my mood was different BUT I went from regular to diet coke and I got on a caffeine kick. Nothing major, just coffee in the a.m. and diet coke at lunch and, sometimes, dinner. That was 3 years ago.

I didn't feel any different but my anxiety has come back and I didn't have it for a long time. I didn't feel jittery or wired after having caffeine and so I haven't stopped it....until I started this program. I was at my wits end with having another round of anxiety kicking in and started this program. I quit because I am trying to follow it as closely as I'm able. Maybe a coincidence, but zero panic attacks. It's been nearly a month and I have not had one.

I didn't stop cold turkey. My morning coffee is half regular/half decaf. ?????

It may not affect you at all, or you may not notice it for quite some time. It took a good month of being off of the sugar to notice a difference. I think I'm hyper-sensitive to anything I put in my body, though.

thank you to everyone who posted here. it really helped to read and learn and listen. thanks for your encouragement. I am a really sensitive boo boo, I usually have to talk half of what is prescribed to me and sugar just puts me over the top. I can't even drink a glass of wine every once in a while anymore. I'm super sensitive.

I will try to be more kind to myself.

I started teh program in December and pretty much stopped my 4 cups a day of black tea and I noticed my anxiety was much less. but then I have days where I eat way too much sugar and feel like crap for the night and even the next day. Anyway, things in moderation but I am trying to go cold turkey with no sugar at least for a few weeks, just to see how I feel. it is so hard. I made choc. chip cookies tonight. duh. oh well. I just had a few and am bringing the rest to work tomorrow.
again, thanks to everyone for your input and thoughts.
Peace,
Mary
