I always feel tired when I wake up, it takes me a long time to really wake up. I feel anxious and sick through out the day, but always around 8pm I feel wide awake, I'm not anxious anymore and my thoughts seem to race even more. I feel more motivated and I feel like I want to do things again, where as in the day time I feel more depressed and unmotivated.
Does anyone else feel better in the evenings? It's scary for me because my biggest fear is that I could be bipolar and that it's more than just anxiety and depression.

I always feel worse in the mornings too for some reason. Someone else on here said it could be because your body is coming out of a relaxed state (sleep), and everything rushes back at you. Not sure though.

I always feel better in the evenings!! I love them because I made it through the day! I really have an empowering evening when I have made it through the day without an meds, no panics....patience is better. I think alot of times I subconsciously focus on negativity in the morning. I see the present and its fine but subconsciously I hoping it won't be a challenging day...so When evening comes its fabulous I have the victory!! not to mention dinners done, kids are in bed,,,,my responsibilities are over and I can relax.

Aurora8202...I can totally relate. These past few morning I wake up super anxious with my mind racing. I endure and struggle through the day to focus and come night time for me the feeling is more relaxed and calm that is great because I can't get to sleep. The weird thing is I go to bed ok and wake up anxious. Can't figure it out...???!!! Some days are better than others I suppose.

It's the opposite for me. I feel bad when I get up but usually better once I get moving.
Even more so if I work out. In the evening I don't have as much energy to fight my emotions and I'm more likely to cry or be impatient with others. I dont think that it sounds bi-polar to have trouble waking up or going to sleep. It seems more ADHD. My brother is ADHD. He has trouble waking up and trouble going to sleep.

I'm right there with Jannacle. Mornings are worse for me. Once I get up, showered, and start my day, I notice my anxiety and depression lift. I'm not sure why evenings get me down. I think it's because I know night-time is close and I will be sitting up worrying about things which of course makes it worse in the mornings and then the whole cycle begins again... Blah!!

I feel the worse anxiety in the a.m. Really bad
anticipatory anxiety, it usually peaks and then
starts to diminish as the day goes by. Then at night during bedtime it starts again and keeps me
up whittling around the house. I am currently working on getting to bed earlier, and putting my mind in a more relaxed state before bedtime.

I can relate to that. I wake up a lot and anxiety rushes on me and then in the evenings I feel better and more relaxed. Probably because I made it through the day. I exercise in the evenings so that probably adds to it.

Wow, I feel so much better after reading all of this. I seem to pick a feeling or sensation and obsess about it and convince myself that it has to be something more serious.

This is quite common, from what I've read on previous posts, and I have experienced it too. It may have something to do with the body's normal circadian rhythm that releases adrenaline in the morning (that is what causes us to wake up naturally each day).
