Hello!I can so relate to all of this.My anxiety usually is the worst in the mornings. It's harder to deal with then because your body and mind have been in a rested state and then when you wake up Bam it hits you like a ton of bricks!ncolombo what's happening is that the Xanax that you took the night before has wore off and that definately can cause a boost of adrenaline.Ask your Dr. if he or she can change it to the extended release Xanax. The extended release last about 12 hours.Hope that helps.Take care!

well the thing is that it happens even without the xanax but i think you're right because im on zoloft too and its worn off at that time also...so like everything is just wearing off at once and hitting me in the face?

I don't mean to scare anyone more than what we already are, but is this worse for you to wake up scared with panic then if you were to just get it while awake???

Hello! It feels somewhat worse because I'm tierd from just waking up but then I get all that adrenaline and feel like I'm to weak to deal with it.Panick during the day is no fun either!I think one of the wort things is waking up and remembering that this is how your life is right now.Over and over!We need to just keep saying to ourselves everyday that today is a different day and that we are getting better know matter how we're feeling.God Bless!

I have a read a few books on children and sleeping because I have three kids. Just based of those books I am guessing you wake like that on the couch because that is not where you associate sleeping.

I have had this happen in both -on the couch and
before waking in the early a.m.
I know exactly why I get these panicky feelings-
it's because I am dreading the a.m. rush.
My horrid cummute, work stress, etc. that I anticipate before going to bed.

Deb,
that's a tough one. You must feel exhausted at work. I wish I knew how to help you.

I'm new to this too, butI have the same problem. I can be really tired on the couch and as soon as I get up and go to bed I start feeling anxious and have a hard time sleeping. I hate feeling this way and sometimes (like last night) I ended up getting up and taking a xanax in order to sleep. It's like I need to find a way to retrain myself to relax and go to sleep, but I don't know how. It's a horrible feeling and I wish there was something that would help. I just don't know what to do.
