Hi everyone, I know we suppost to do some kind of Cardio Exercise ( walking, jogging etc )
I was wondering...?? is weight lifting just as good?
I do it 4 to 5 times per week 1 hr per session.
(one body part per session)
I know it doesn;t do anything for the heart (even knowing that the heart is the biggest muscle in our body) I just love the feeling on moving heavy weight and the pump I get from my workout.
Thank to all who reads and answers this post.

I think she does say 'aerobic' activity-
such as walking, running, jogging etc;

But I guess weightlifting does help to relieve
frustrations too but it probably isn't good for
muscle tension.

While weightlifting is an excellent form of exercise, it is not a cardio workout. Maybe you could cut your weight time in half one or two days and replace that time with running or some other form of cardio activity.

I wouldn't stop the weights though! Exercise is great - and if it makes you feel good - even better!! :)

Best,
Dawn

My doctor said the perfect exercise is walking.

Hey Superman!

I do 20 minutes on the elliptical machine and 20 minutes of weights three times a day. I am really happy about the daylight savings time (but NOT for the morning hour loss of sleep!) because it's light again when I get home from work and I can go walking with my husband or my dogs (depending on who's motivated! LOL). The elliptical was my winter cardio - and it was getting boring! Also I try and do some yoga each day, but I'm better at doing that in the warmer weather for some reason!

Hope you have a great day!

Best,
Dawn

I love elliptical machines. But I don't have one. We splurged and bought and exercise bike. Its great. I was in a car accident, and had very large twins. This messed up my hips. Walking is not good for me. The bike is great. I also like to good exercise videos of kick boxing and belly dancing. Hip hop dance videos are fun too. I try to do something different every other day so I don't get bored. There are also walking videos where you can walk in front of the tv. Leslie Sansone is the instructor. Hope you find something you like that is fun for you.

I try to get to the gym at least 3 times a week,
and if I don't go then I take a long walk with my dog- about a 1/2 an hour brisk walk.

When I go to the gym, I hop on the treadmill for
1/2 hour- fast walking on incline, then I'll do
intervals of jogging in between. Very invigorating!!
Then I do a lot of stretching before and after the workouts. I put my IPOD on and it really transports me out of myself and I feel so much better while exercising.
Even if I had a bad anxiety day, it makes me feel so much better. On bad days I usually just
take it easy on myself and do more walking not
a lot of running.

Good Luck adding an aerobic routine to your workout!!
