Has anyone tried a Hypoglycemic diet for anxiety?

I'm trying to decide if I should get more strips or not. LOL

As for the 2-3 days thing I wonder too. Seems a bit too far fetched and I don't want to think that hard. ;)

I'm not as worried about my BS getting high more so about it going low. I think that's more of an issue for me.

How do you know you're allergic to wheat? I'm wondering if I am because I hear it's common but I'm not sure how to tell.

For me, I was tested. Had shots for a couple of years for the environmental stuff. For food, basically you just have to avoid it or eat in moderation. And when I eat certain things I know certain things will happen. Like anytime I eat eggs I'll get a headache within 20 minutes and so forth.

Basically for me if I avoid anything to do with a cow and eggs then I generally do pretty well.

Well off to B&N to get books lol. I have a whole library, not that I will ever get to them all. I need to learn to speed read lol.

I can relate! I tried Half Price Books but they never seem to have the book I need at any given time. :)

Well I made it. I went and got the book. I'm excited to see what it says.

I wasn't able to get the Dummies book though. I looked for it quickly but didn't see it. I had gone to Whole Foods earlier and needed to get things in the fridge.

So I'll see how it goes.

Lau van c- Session 5 talks about the sugar effect on us with anxiety. We don't need our blood sugar levels to be going crazy even if we aren't hypoglycemic or diabetic. I haven't been able to knock out all sugar though.

Yeah I think that's so true. I'm not sure I'm truly hypoglycemic because I haven't had the test but I think keeping that level just makes me feel better.

Thanks for the posts everyone. There is something to be said for being fat and happy. I did well on Lucinda's tapes that I bought several years ago. I recently started dieting and my anxiety symptoms came back so I got out my tapes again. Now, hopefully is is low blood sugar and not anxiety/panic attacks. I found some great information here

Hey Faith, I haven't read a lot in the book yet. I worked late again tonight. But I ran across something interesting. In the symptom list I believe, it says something like "feels better after 7pm". This is so true of me. I've been telling people for years how strange it is that I can feel stressed and not want to go anywhere all day long and then later at night boom I'll feel perfectly fine and want to get out. People always told me they thought it was work stress and I felt better at night because I was away from work, which makes sense.

I'm glad to see it in print though. I thought there was something to it.

I hope it does well for you. I'm having to modify the diet a bit because I realized after seeing a friend that I hadn't seen in a couple weeks that I'm losing weight. I'm already thin. I just have to figure out what to add back in to not lose weight but still stay away from the processed and sugar-y foods.

My counselor that I've met with a few times wanted me to go to a DO and get a nutrition plan but he's expensive!!

I'm trying to find a balance. I know it's not ALL diet any more than it's ALL thoughts. But it's a process right?

Hi everyone,
I was diagnosed with hypoglycemia last year after weeks of headaches, dizziness, blurry vision, and just plain not feeling well. The doctor did blood tests and my glucose was 61. She told me to eat frequently throughout the day. I changed the way I was eating, including more protein in my diet and I started feeling better. Yesterday however, I left work early because I had a headache, dizziness, the blurry vision, and I was on the verge of a panic attack. (I haven't had one of those since early last year). I also had this sudden OVERWHELMING feeling of sleepiness!!! Don't know if that's a symptom of hypoglycemia but if they could bottle that sleepiness, I'd be rich off of insomniacs!! I had eaten lunch about 30 minutes prior to the symptoms so it didn't even occur to me that it could be my blood sugar. When I got home, I checked and my blood sugar was 76; a perfect value in most people. I had some orange juice and a couple of strawberries, started to feel better, and then checked it again a few minutes later. It was 85.

My question is: Does anyone else have a "cut off" value in which you know your blood sugar is low? Mine seems to be in the 80's. Anything lower than that, I start with the symptoms. Anyone else?
