Misunderstanding Scriptures-guilt,Low self-esteem, Lack of Confidence

In this thread I see the same thing mentioned several times which is believing that they are unlovable by God, so here is my story.
About 2 years ago I felt the same way, that I had done TOO MUCH for God to love me. One night in prayer I said “God I just don’t feel saved tonight” and God dropped this in my spirit, almost as an audible voice saying “Oh, so you think the Blood wasn’t good enough for you huh?”
WOW, that answer floored me. I then knew what I was actually doing was saying the Blood Of Christ Jesus was null, void and stale, and meant NOTHING! Oh Did I repent of that really fast! I also learned that we do not ‘work’ for our salvation because this is also calling the Blood void.
Once we have said the prayer of Salvation, we are forgiven right then! If we stumble and accidently sin we repent and ask forgiveness and it is done! Here is God sees us now: * Isaiah 38:17 KJVA
Behold, for peace I had great bitterness : but thou hast in love to my soul delivered it from the pit of corruption: for thou hast cast all my sins behind thy back.
Scripture about how far our sins are from God: * Micah 7:19 KJVA
He will turn again , he will have compassion upon us; he will subdue our iniquities; and thou wilt cast all their sins into the depths of the sea.
SCRIPTURE about the Blood continuing to cleanse us: 1 John 1:7 NAS
but if we walk in the Light as He Himself is in the Light , we have fellowship with one another , and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin
The Blood of Christ is continually washing us every day moment by moment, otherwise Christ Jesus died for nothing (and we know He didn’t die in vain!)
SINCE God forgave us, who are we to not forgive ourselves! If we don’t forgive ourselves that means we are kicking God out of the way and saying we are right and HE is wrong.
Somewhere we have learned to ‘self loath’ because of parents, family or peers, but we need to get away from that thought right away.: * 2 Corinthians 10:5 KJV
Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;
HMMM, thought and imaginations are the same aren’t they? Cast that thought away from you.

Thanks. I needed to hear that today.
One thing about God's will that my counselor said to me once -
What makes you think you aren't in God's will? Don't you think He knew every decision you would make and right where you would be at this time?
It certainly doesn't mean that when we pursue sin (even negative thinking) that we are doing God's will, but it's a thought that anything we have done can never be too big or bad for us to return and be right where He wants us to be.
Thoughts on that?

Here is a BIG one in my church:
"Be ye therefore perfect..."
There is such judgement amoung the members - a smug self-richeous comparison that commences as we compare each other's level of perfection so we can feel better about ourselves.
What I have learned is that it is all about "BE-ing". It is through Christ' blood that we are made perfect - we are perfect just as God made us and the truth to me is that I am here to go to school, to learn and gain knowledge and experience.
I prefer to focus on another teaching of Jesus...
"Judge not that ye be not judged..."
I heard it said that the day we stop judging ourselved and others IS our "Judgement Day". There may be a whole lot of truth in that.
By the way Rod- excellent insights on Christ's sacrifice, I have to keep remeinding myself to not spit on His gift by beating myself up!

On being perfect--by Joyce Meyers...
Believe in Him, love Him and desire His will. You'll be off to a good start. He’ll bring you across the finish line. And remember, you may not be performing perfectly, but if you have a perfect heart toward Him, He counts you as perfect while you’re making the trip.

This is a great thread:). I needed to read this today. I just wanted to say something to DeniseD that may help her when she feels she's messed up God's will for her life. I've definitely felt that way too, and this has helped me. The verse is from the 23rd Psalm. "He restoreth my soul." I read this one time shortly after my nervous breakdown, and it was out of Joyce Meyer's book on Healing Damaged Emotions. In that lesson Joyce says no matter what you have done, etc., or how you've messed up, etc., if you ask Him, He will put you right back where He wants you to be. At that time, I was depersonalizing a lot and just went through hell. This lady came to my house to pray for me, and she said God told her to bring batteries but didn't know why. I read that lesson, and that became my verse. I felt like God was just going to put new batteries in me, and that's why He told her to bring them. I was depersonalizing, but after God put new batteries in me, I would come back and stronger. Later on, I actually found out that the word "restoreth" means that God will make you even better than you were before:). How beautiful. Anyway, this really helps me when I think I've blown it on His will for my life, and maybe it will help you too. God bless everyone:).

BobsDiane, you said 'when we pursue sin' and negative thinking. I for one do NOT pursue negative thinking, it just comes with the anxiety. That is unfair to yourself to call yourself a sinner (If that is what you were saying) just because you have negative thinking. On the contrary, you are a child of God Almighty, negative thinking and all. God is like a fisherman, He catches His fish THEN proceeds to clean them! The cleaning process is what we do here on earth until we are with HIM. You are NOW CLEAN through the Blood of Christ Jesus!

Enlighteded, Your statement is VERY TRUE "There are so many mistruths or misrepresentations that I have discovered from my vantage point or from that of other Christians, that I would need to write a dissertation or doctoral thesis on to fully disclose."
My point exactly!! Thanks for bringing more clarity! I have been looking for a Christian Ministry that deals with the subjects of panic and anxiety! I have not found any yet. The closest I have been so far are the Doctors/Authors Cloud & Townsend. I bought their audio book titled 'Changes That Heal' and it only brought up MORE QUESTIONS for me. They made an attempt at an explaination to remedy the problems, but it was not weak at most(at least for me). I now have their DVD seminar Titled '12 Christian Beliefs that Can Drive You Crazy' but have not watched it enough to get any answers.
I need INDEPTH answers that draw me a clear picture how to deal with all this misinterpreted
info I have left about the scriptures.
Any Ministry suggestions anyone? Please share with the other readers.

Perhaps I should have said at times we choose sin. I'm not always precise in my word selection. Even as born again, washed clean believers, sometimes we choose to sin over dong something God's way. Joyce Meyer's daily devotional "Battlefield for the Mind" refers to negative thinking as sin. Not the thoughts to come to us, but the ones we entertain and become a part of our thinking. God tells us to think on lovely, pure and of good report and the God of peace will be with us. So when we dwell on things that we know are not things God would have us dwell upon, then we don't have peace. Otherwise, we are thinking on things that Satan wants us to believe, not the truth. I totally believe that I am washed clean of sin because of the blood of Jesus (thank you God!!!). I also know I don't live perfectly and I still have to bring any sin to confession for MY benefit and obediance to Him. I believe that when He saved me, He saved me for past, present and future. So by sinner, I don't mean that I am unsaved, but instead that I am less than what God would have me to. Is that clearer? :}
