I have got to get a grip accept for the relaxation tape which is very good do the lesson once a week if you have to or drage it ou as long as you need to besure you understand the materail. that is all i can do. wish you luck
I have found that a lot of MY negative thinking went away only AFTER our satellite receiver broke down, and we decided NOT to get it repaired. Having no television and rarely listening to the news has been a huge lifesaver for me... and we've been TV free for about 3 years now! Now, when I want to stay informed, I will go on the Internet, and check out the news occasionally, instead of becoming addicted to watching all the garbage. We thought we'd miss it, but really we don't. With the exception of an occasional show now and then, we don't miss much at all, and get a lot more done, too.

Openseason- I can identify with you about when summer starts and people are out doing things. Most people I know say they get a little down when winter comes and the days are shorter. I know some people who use the light therapy during this time, but I get the opposite. Never could figure it out and the closest I can come to it is that for some reason (due to my habit of comparing my life to other people's too much) is that I think everyone else is out there doing something fun except me. Crazy huh?

OK, I was afraid to admit that I initially worried about the amount of time I will need to put into this. It's nice to see that you were so honest about your feelings! I am also overwhelmed with my life. Lots of times my thoughts are foggy(?). Nothing that I'm doing is clear to me. Thank goodness I seem to be able to function on "automatic pilot!"
Schedules are a joke. I can't seem to be on time for anything. I'm always finding 'one last thing' I can do before leaving the house or work, because I hate to waste time! There's so much to get done that I feel I have to cram as much into my day as possible. To sit somewhere and wait is a waste of time. Boy, do I sound sick!! I'm beginning week 4 and I haven't finished the work for week 2!! Sound like I have a problem??!!
Hockey season is winding down, so I hope to have more time to myself. Oh, wait! Spring soccer (indoor) starts this week. So much for time to myself!
Gotta go - gotta work in my guidebook.

So... I ordered this program online (in the middle of the night) awhile ago, mainly because I have been feeling so completely overwhelmed by everything I have to do all the time. I have now just added one more thing to do to my list! I am feeling stressed out just about ALL the time because I have way too much on my plate to truly enjoy life, but I don't know what to cut out, or how to do it. It seems like the only "disposable" things would be those things which I really enjoy. Now I'm feeling the pressure of having to listen to stuff everyday and make commitments that I really don't feel ready to make, post on here, and stay on schedule (I can't stand being scheduled).
There's the complaints out of the way!
Hi Everyone! Glad to be here... I think. We'll see how it goes. If I can learn to not take on so much and not feel guilty about it afterwards, this will have been a success! I come from a long line of worriers and folks with high anxiety. I'd like to break the cycle, so any help with that will be great.

OpenSeason,
I live in Maine and love the winter! Summer is the worst for me I think because of the heat. It just makes me grumpy and gives me headaches!
Fall is my favorite time of year with the warm (not hot) days and cool evenings -- perfect for tenting!! I'm also in love with a beautiful snowy day. I can't get enough. With everyone around me complaining about the continuing snow, I don't dare say anything to the contrary! I fear for my life! (Ha!)
I'm in Michigan, by the way. I'm starting to wonder if enrollment increases this time of year due to the seasons. Though, this isn't generally the worst for me. The worst for me is the beginning of summer when it starts warming up and people are out doing all sorts of things. I've yet to find anyone who identifies with me on that one...not that I ever took a survey...LOL[/QUOTE]

That's funny. I'm very happily married to my best friend ever but I think my husband is a pretty pessimistic guy sometimes and, when I'm not feeling good, and he starts going on and on about politics, I just want to crawl into a hole.Originally posted by OpenSeason:

It happened right after my husband started talking negatively about the economy, poor people, Brad Pitt helping in New Orleans....geez Like it's no wonder I'm depressed he can't say one thing that is positive and happy. Anyone else have this problem?
